how do you perform your skullcrushers?

I alternate between a flat bench and an incline bench. Also, I usually use dumbells with a neutral grip (palms facing each other). Every once is a while I'll use the ez curl bar but not often. Dumbells seem to be easier on the elbows.

just looked at witefalls' avatar, need to go do a helmet crusher

Note that in all three of those videos, the bar is moving in a straight line, not an arc, the elbows are pointed outward, and there is significant upper arm movement. This is not "classical" form, but it is the correct way of doing this exercise if you want to maximize long head involvement and minimize elbow stress.

Here is what I see a lot of...
More of a chest row then a skull crusher.
To build the triceps, They have to be doing the work..which means yes the elbows have to bend.

( I apologize if she is a member here or someones friend.. she looks to be in great shape just not the best form on the lift :D)

So the same goes for squats? Your knee have to bend?:banghead:

now im even more confused lol. so eblows in our elbows out? what is the consensus? looks like the guys in the videos have their elbows out.

hey bro, so you agree with kaladryn....the upper arm should move as the triceps contract (as in the videos)?

so many different ways to do these:eek:

I dont care for the floor at all myself. You would have to use the small plates.
I personaly do not flare my elbows out to far...same with pushdowns. I see a lot of guys with elbows pointed away from the body....arms out from the body. I lock my arms in closer to the body.

I love to do these but the elbow pain just kills too much.

For me, personally i've found the best way to reduce elbow pain is to:
Use a decline bench
Bring the bar behind your head (as opposed to your face, like branch does)
Not lock out - only go maybe 3/4 way up (similar to Ronnie)

I agree.....Decline bench with the DBs/bar behind the head and up in the air is the way to go for me.

Lately I have been doin mine on a flat bench with db's. I use a hammer grip and bring the weight right to tip of my forehead.
