This may be a newbie question, but I was wondering exactly how the combination of the three operate to stimulate fat loss. Does it suppress the appetite, increase metabolism, or is there an actual chemical reaction that takes place to increase fat burning?

All of the above. If you want detailed info, I would suggest a detailed search. There is tons of useful and scientific data on the ECA stack. I think its the most researched fat loss aid ever.

The E & C speed up your metabolism. The A shuts down/hinders your body's efforts to cool/slow itself.

The ECA stack is a fairly potent central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. The components work together synergistically; in other words, their combined effect is much greater than the effect of the individual components alone. The effects of the stack are: a major decrease in appetite, thermogenesis (creation of heat), which causes the body to burn more calories; increased fat burning and muscle sparing through the stimulation of beta-receptor sites.
 
With the increase in bodyheat, is it wise to stay away from saunas and maybe even reduce the amount of cardio I'm currently doing (45 mins day) to reduce the risks of overheating?

You should be fine. Just stay hydrated and drink 1.5-2 gallons of water a day (should be doing this anyway).
 
I remember after coming off of ECA my body would still shake. It was too strong for me..but worked crazy!
