How far would you drive…

I don't like driving and I hate wasting time moving from one place to another if I can save that time. That is why I train in my garage.

If I were younger and in need of learning or if im were on a high level competitive circuit, would probably want to train somewhere with a certain environment and people. But the choice would not be motivated by the equipment. Then you might be willing to drive 15-20 minutes.
 
My preferred gym is about 20 miles from me, but its also a straight shot and I can take back roads. I also prefer to train early in the morning so almost no one is on the road and only takes about 25 minutes. If it is during the afternoon forget it. It would easily be 45 minutes of traffic nightmares.

But there is a smaller okay gym about 10 minutes away that I go to if I can't make it in the morning. Definitely not as good equipment and wayyyy more crowded, but in a pinch it works.
 
I drive about an hour to an hour and half to my gym from my office. From my house it’s only 30 mins.

it’s totally worth it. It’s the best gym I’ve ever been to. It’s never busy. Everyone is there with a purpose to get stuff done. They have almost every machine that’s ever been made (that one would want)

I also drive on average 100 miles or more a day for work. So windshield time is a non issue. Plus it gives me plenty of time to eat and digest my preworkout meal
 
I live above mine and would find it hard to have a commute after this arrangement
 
10 minutes to my weekday gym, 45 to my dream gym when I have time
 
10-15 mins for a gym, 30-45 min for a badass training partner.
 
I drive 25 minutes now and enjoy the drive. The dream gym is about an hour away but that’s too much for me.
 
I live in Belgium, we don't have many good gyms so I drive 45 minutes to the gym and 45 minutes back almost every day.

There are gyms closer by but they are worthless.
 
I drove a hour each way during the pandemic when the gyms were closed.

Id say 30 mins is about my max now. I dont mind traveling farther on the weekends.
 
Out of my way and a LEGIT good gym with cool equioment?
30-45 mins.

I'm only saying that because honestly, LA doesnt have a TON of good gyms.
The good ones, i've lifted at and those are all around that far away from everything.

I pay for 2 gyms now. A local commercial LA Fit (3 min drive) and a private one (20-30 min drive).
The private one is where I have actual buddies i talk to, know the owners, can bullshit and talking training and all that. Just a better atostphere with bigger lifters. The LA Fit is fine when i just need to hit a hard chest day by myself, but if I have time, I prefer the better atmosphere.
 
No more than 10 mins. Sometimes just making myself go to the gym can be half the battle. The good thing is I have a gym a few miles from my house…..I have no more excuses.
