I live in Miami, as you know, and I was out on a boat on Sunday at a sandbar, tons of boats and chicks everywhere etc. Now I'm not muscular or huge or lean as hell. I look like I work out, have a flat stomach and you can see outline of abs, and I don't like beer I prefer liquor but that's all there was and I cut it off early and they told me (girls) "don't worry, just keep drinking, dad bods are in now" and on this past Sunday is when I discovered what the fuck it was. I never want to look anything close to that. And the fact that I was literally told to keep drinking and it's ok, I was also told (yes seriously) to stop going to the gym. I was like WTF are you kidding me?!?!

It's girls building up on their self esteem issues and insecurities.

ive had females confide in me how embarrassed they are when they are at the beach and their dadbod-looking boyfriends take off their shirts..

this "trend" flies straight in the face of evolution and universally-accepted beauty standards.


as for the women who are serious when they claim to be attracted to the dadbod, it's just a illustration of "The Fox and the Grapes"... you guys should familiarize yourselves with that, it's a fable by Aesop.

Absolutely and it's the same the other way around. I used to be embarrassed to be seen in public with certain females before (even if they were just friends) because they didn't meet society's beauty standards. Now I don't care anymore because I've matured but it's normal human nature for young people.

Just a little thought... But I am thinking females that are confident and secure with themselves won't necessarily go after "dad bod" types because they are going to go after someone the compliments their own life.

Insecure females will go after the "inferior" male because he allows them to feel better about themselves. They have the upper hand in the relationship versus being equals

I know my soon to be wife thinks the dad bod is pathetic... She finds kicking ass in the gym and muscle attractive...but she is also stronger than most average guys lol
