Hardest fucking thing I have ever experienced!
8 years, 2 kids. She's into HIIT and Lagree. We both share a recent lifestyle change and passion for a healthier lifestyle. This board has a lot of great people who have been in long term committed relationships with their partners for a long time, so I figured this would be a topic worth exploring.
How long have you been married? What are things you learned (definitive truths) from being married and staying married?
What are mistakes you made in the past? What are some things you could go back and change?
P.S- Mods please delete if this is the wrong place to post this. I'm expecting resistance from a grey bird on the concept of marriage.

It's ok to be wrong, saying sorry its more important than being right. 10 year younger latina who thinks she's always right anyways.
Many mistakes were made but ultimately led me to her. Wouldn't go back and change anything bc like I said everything led me to her.
preach!
barring making some sort of crash out type of mistakes, usually everything works out in the end.
i wholeheartedly believe we come into relationships(romantic or otherwise) when the time is right.
for both parties.
whether those relationships are meant to teach us lessons. or whether the relationships are permanent, and help take us to the next level.
Damn man. Hang in there. I can't imagine.Would have been 20 years in October. I lost her to cancer 3 months ago

Me and the wife have a kind of "prenup" what we had before marriage we will leave with if it ends, all else is split in 2. But i deff get you point i alwayes said i would never marry the now wife was the same way, one point where we found marriage to be a clear plus is when i was in prison for a stint and us being married ment she could access all my bank accounts etc with out problems. My number one "I cant be talked out of it" position is...I am not getting the government involved in my relationship. Fullstop.
I told my gf the day we started talking "I am not getting married again."
I got married young, It lasted for about 2 years. I thought it failed because of our age. Nope, not that.
I see these guys rolling the dice when there are so many examples of how bad you can F(%^ your life up doing something you see everyone else doing.
Im happy for the guys that are married happily but I really dont need/want it. At all.
You ever try having a place thats 100% all yours where no one can start shit and if they do, you just tell them to get out? It's magical.
You tie the knot and what you are doing is walking into someone else fantasy world where you arent the player/character. You want to really know a woman? Marry her. Or even better just cohabit for a decent amount of time.
Never ever ever put yourself in a position where it's detrimental for you to walk away is my advice. It's harder to get out of a bad marriage than it is if you were jumped in by a gang. It's easier to get a neck tattoo removed. You can lose a leg and still be an absolute beast with a prosthetic. You ever see a truly beaten down defeated man? Not for me.
