Hey brothers;

Quick q, was on 20mcg of T3 for 5 months straight due to GH (GH i know from bloods was affecting T4). I have stopped GH for a while now, but heres the dilemma;

Ive been on off t3 for 2 days (today being 3rd), using thyroid supplement OTC, i know my t3 isnt rebooting due to itching of skin (which has subsided), but most importantly irritation.

Does anyone have any experiences as to how long it takes for TSH pathway to reboot (esp T3).

Thanks

Ok boys; found one of many answers, and this goes to show that it doesnt matter if HPTA shutdown or TSH signalling pathway, if you blow any you will be shutdown for a while (even if its as little as 20mcg for 5 months straight).

I just want to know if cardio (accelerating heart rate) will help in rebound? if anyone has experience with this.

Six weeks is a safe number.

My sister was on t4 for a couple years hers bounced back in six weeks

I was on for two months and it took six weeks for mine to back bounce from my bloodwork

there general consensus is six weeks no matter if its 2 months or 2 years

Jesus bro; sounds a while, i was hoping a week? did she use any iodine supplementation (as that is a catalyst for t3/t4) production?

Quite the opposite IMO if you consider how cardio induced spikes in cortisol could negatively effect thyroid hormones production.

Not much you can do to accelerate the process, kingtung... just be patient, it will come back to normal at some point... everyone being so different, it's just impossible to predict when that will precisely happen in your case.

Adding Iodine to your daily supps is probably the only "little" thing you can do that might help a bit. :)

If you taper down the dose gradually will you feel better energy wise?

I really dont know, although, ive seen where a guy quite cold turkey , tapered down, and compared his blood-work and, he bounced back faster tapering down , according to his blood-work. My sister tapered. I tapered. I think its a good idea .

Quick question

How did they check T3 bouncing back

T4 is given to boost T3 so T3 should only of been enhanced on T4 medication. Then once stopped it go back down to we’re it was.

I wouldn’t of thought there was any bounce back with T4?

why t3 instead t4? isnt t4 better choice with gh?

Nice! Eventually I’ll have to taper down the T4. I’m just not looking forward to lower energy levels and putting body fat on. :eek:

I have seen Iodine suggested in here for helping raise thyroid levels several times. I’m confused by this. I thought Iodine reduces thyroid output hence the reason its given to people that are HYPERthyroid. What am I missing?

Does low thyroid levels cause itchy skin? I have hashimotos and have been treated with t4/t3 because my levels were nominal without it. Around the time i started having problems i also started struggling with itchy skin. To the point that i started carrying hydrocortizone with me. I told my doc, who is treating me for the hashimotos, and she seemed perplexed and suggested possible an allergy to something. If low thyroid levels causes itchy skin then my constant itching would make a whole lot of sense..

Replies in this thread are pretty funny, and of course NO ONE posts the most logical idea: GET BLOOD WORK
