How many accessories do you train with from day to day???

We all have the standard shoes and back belt, or at least I would think, but what all else do you train with from day to day to assist you???

I just ordered a new pair of wrist sleeves from APT, and ended up getting a set of wrist wraps that I like better than what I ordered. I also ended up getting a new pair of the what I call "loophole" wrist straps. That brings me up to 2 pair of those, leather and fabric. And of course my TK elbow sleeves. Those things have been a Godsend. I guess the iPod/MP3 Player counts as well.

Belt, knee wraps (squat day), straps (dead-lift/shrug day) & intra-workout protein.

Nothing. Maybe some chalk on dead lift days. Should look into a belt but I don't really go heavy so I haven't felt the need to use one.

I used to bring my ipod but after I bought the ipod touch I got nervous thinking I would break it.

1) Pair of Asics wrestling shoes for squats and deads.
2) Wrist wraps for pressing movements
3) Wrist straps for pulling movements
4) Knee sleeves for high rep leg movements
5) Knee wraps for heavy squats
6) Log book
7) I-Pod

For weight training, I just show up; long sleeve shirt, shorts,
sweatband, sturdy hiking shoes. No iPod, no belt (used to),
no wraps, no straps, no sleeves, no gloves, no chalk (used to),
no bottle, no note book (used to). I'm an easy keeper.

Cardio at the gym; iPod with music. Indispensable.
Cardio in the mountains; iPod with podcasts, audio books.
Cardio on the road (bike); nada . . .my ears are wide open
so I don't get killed.

Fun question. I see guys dragging around a huge gym bad
full of lord knows what. They always seen to be rummaging
around for something. That would be a total distraction for
me. Plus I would always forget where I left it.

Nice work my friend. I have a belt, but only use it when Im going heavy. I have a good amount of things, but Im such a neat freak that I keep certain things in certain compartments in my bag. I'll go to the lockerroom before training, go to the compartment that has what I need, get it and go.

Im pretty lucky. I work in a boilerhouse and we're given 45 minutes of clean up/shower time at the end of the day. So Im dressed for the gym right after my shower.

i see this too and it makes me laugh. one guy, in particular, though, comes to mind. after lugging his bag around for his whole workout, he wrapped himself up in an american flag towel, like he was an olympic boxer. i wonder why though, with the huge duffles. our gym has lockers. whatever. i also wear chucks, which i bought for squatting, but i now wear exclusively, all the time.

It really depends what muscle groups I'm lifting that day. For leg day I use my belt, and knee wraps. For chest, shoulder and tris day I use my dipping belt and gloves. For back day I only use my belt.

depends on the day...some days i need my belt some days i don't....same with wrist straps, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, and knee wraps, as well as chalk.

things i always have:
MP3 player
water
paper and pen.

i should use elbow sleeves.....but don't own any......where could i pick them up???? a sporting goods store?????

i do use wrist straps for back exercises.......the straps allow me to pull with my elbows......essential for developing a sensational back. IMHO

I was using straps for dead lifting, but I think I fried a nerve in my wrist with them. So I bought some of those haulin hooks, my powerlifting buddies make fun of them, but man, I like em a lot!

straps are a must......they allow you to pull correctly on back exercises.....but powerlifters never seem to get it......i get fun poked at me too......when i want to train my grip......i will hold dumbbells for time.......but when i train back.......deadlifts......db rows.......i strap up......

i have a pair of otomix stingray shoes. i use the straps on the days that i need them, a belt for heavy squats only, and a dipping belt for my dips, back stretch and pullups.

For those of you that use specific shoes for squating, such as wrestling shoes, does it make that much of a difference?

Any was i just use a belt, wrist straps, and knee wraps.

Straps are not a must. Look at the powerlifters who use their bare hands to do all their lifts. Also, straps do not "allow" you to pull correctly on back exercises. Using your bare hand to do all your pulling exercises helps with grip strength and also builds up your forearms 100x faster than using straps which IMO are worthless. I use gloves for all pushing movements but use bare hands for all pulling movements and on leg day and my forearms have grown quite a bit and my grip strength has improved significantly. I used to use straps back in the day and I threw mine away because it hindered my grip strength and my forearms wouldn't grow.

None. Zero. Don't use a belt at all until I'm above 365 on warm-ups for squats, no wraps until well above 400. Never use straps.

Use a log book.
