I would rather diet clean and correctly and look good year round and make quality gains, even if the scale doesn't tick as fast. Makes prep easier, I feel better, and I'm healthier. I don't see the point in bulking and adding unnecessary fat. If I gain 2 pounds of solid muscle (not 2 pounds of water, fat, etc., I'm talking 2 pounds of real muscle) per month, I consider that month extremely successful. I like looking good! I don't like having fat on me just to have to work extra hard to cut it all off. With a little discipline, you can gain muscle and stay lean, ESPECIALLY when using AAS and growth. Just my opinion.
500 cals above maintenance eating a clean, healthy diet of nutritiously dense foods gives me much better gains than eating 1200 calories above maintenance of crap.
