How many days do you train in a seven day week when adding mass

I used the search button and I really liked Big A's idea of three days a week (Mon,Wed,fri) weekends off. I know a lot of my powerlifting buddies did that for strength gain and some even trained only two. I just need to put my weight back on from a surgery and hernia (surgery was rectal) so I lost about 60 pounds over close to a year. I was just looking for some suggestions. Thanks in advance

I like a four day split:

Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri

OR

Mon-Wed-Fri-Sun

I always trained (Mon,Tues,Thurs,Fri) before and took the weekend off, it always worked pretty well, but I've heard three days a week was what many guys are doing to gain maximum size? I'm more of a bodybuilder/powerlifter. I train more like Yates did, so the extra rest may help me for awhile, then once I get all my stamina and strength back, I can decide rather I want to stay with three days a week or go back to four. What do you guys think?

I like lifting on a 3 day split but making it a every other day workout so mon, wed, fri, sun, tues , thurs etc. Im hitting the muscle group every 6 days , I really like it because I feel fully healed by the time I get to the next muscle group , as well as I feel like im in the gym quite often since its every other day, sometimes when I take 2 days off at a time I feel miserable. So far its working great!

I like the sound of that. What time do you usually get to train?

I tend to train 2-on 1-off pretty much all the time. I tried EOD but fuck man it's hard to stay out of the gym that much, I look forward to training everyday. Hate days off. I do EOD full body or 2-day splits for 4-8 weeks on my "downtime". If I have to take 2 days off I don't sweat it but generally it's 2-on-1-off.

I think MWF or MT ThF is best with AM cardio days mixed in(2-3 a week) to bolster appetite.

5 days. Mon, Tues, Wed on, Thurs off, Fri, Sat on, Sun off

Most weeks I do EOD which makes it 3 days one week 4 the next.
Lately I have had a tougher work schedule so its been M W F.

4 days a week is my sweet spot with life as usual. If I have a very little stress and am really on top of recovery, sleeping, eating etc... 5 days a week works great for a while, but def gotta listen to my body and take an extra day off occassionally

when coming back from injury or surgery, the lifting load tend to be light, almost like a rehab/re-educating mind-muscle connection. i think its better to keep loads low and train them more frequent. perhaps 1-2 sets per bodypart and train whole body in the same day and gradually increase the load. once the load get heavier, you can perhaps train eod in 2 way split, then advance onto 3 way split training mon, tue, thur, fri(or sat), then 4 way split in same frequency. JMO..

I usually would alternate between 3 and 5 days a week. I'd typically lean towards 5 days though if I had a choice.

Thanks for your responses. Seems eod and 2 on 1 off 2 on seem to be the most popular. I've always done 2-1-2 but may try eod (weekends off) until I get my weight and strength back. I think this would be the easiest and safest way to get back into shape injury free. Does this make any sense?

5 days 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off, 4 day split with arms 2x week since they blow

6 on 1 off...each muscle hit 2-3x a week..

What works best for me is 4 days out of 7.

I used to do 6 on 1 off....nowadays I do 3 on 1 off and I like that and will stick with it prolly. Sometimes it ends up being 4 on 1 off if my brothers are in town or something, but the plan is always 3
