I think you're right. sometimes I feel like I may have missed the VG but still never get pip there. that's why I ask, it seems as though it's random despite whether or not it looked like I nailed the placement or not. even when I know I misplaced it usually still get no PIP. but most likely I probably hit something else when this happens as you said.
how would this affect absorption? does missing the targeted pinning location ever lead to wasted gear or lower bioavailability... considering I'm plunging deep enough and aspirating to ensure I didn't hit a vein
I wouldn't worry about absorbtion much. Fat is slower. Missing and shooting in between meh.
Reality is that the whole half-life and absorption thing is all an illusion of false precision when presented as a single number. If you look at the raw data, it's all over the place. Each muscle has different blood flow. Each person uses a given muscle differently day to day. Even same person, same muscle will vary under as tight a control as real life can manage.
Useful model for trying to achieve a certain level and hold it with reasonable bounds in a real life living situation. Don't stress over it.
