How many of you guys are on telmisartan?

How many of you guys are on telmisartan? How much has it helped your blood pressure ? And what negative side effects do you get if any at all?

I use olmesartan, it's just a bit stronger, blood pressure is good. No negatives at all.

If you have blood pressure issues I'd highly recommend

Same here - was on benicar 40mg - and heard all of the rave reviews on telmisartan. So I switched over since it was an ARB with added benefeits.
Worst mistake I could have made. It didn’t do a thing for my BP and I gave it a good 4-6 weeks. Constantly in the 150-160s over 80s 90s
Back on benicar and BP is 116-70s ish

I use telmisartan 40mg, nebivolol 2.5mg and amlodipine 2.5mg. I buy into the 1+1+1=4 theory, several low dose drugs/pathways better than one (medium or high) dose drug/pathway. Same reason I prefer several low dose AAS as opposed to just test for example.

Having said that, I might need to experiment, as I've recently started to believe I get most of my blood pressure control from nebivolol and amlodipine, and not really much from telmisartan.

Ultimately, everyone is different, it's a bit of trial and error to find what works for you and your situation.

doc started me on 40mg about 1 month ago. It has brought my bp down and the only negative side is it makes me piss more than normal.

I take 80mgs every night. I have high blood pressure that runs in my family. I feel great on telmisartan….no negative side effects…..it kept my BP in range even on prep. My BP stays 115-120s over 60-70…..this was my bp from yesterday when I took it…..

I'm similar, except I haven't tried Amlodipine.

I run 20-40mg Telmisartan and 2.5-5mg Nebivolol. Might look into Amlodipine, I'm not familiar with it yet.

Telmisartan did nothing for my blood pressure. I tried doses from low to high for two months. When I stopped using it my blood pressure was better than when on it. The only bp drugs that help me are tadalifil and nebivolol (bystolic).

If they do , It’s probably because they were prescribed teli/hctz

Nah, Telmisartan will make most people shed water weight. It's one of the nicer side benefits of it.
