How much AAS will cause kidney problems

At what amount would a AAS cycle be safe? Are there anything we can take to help safe guard kidney failure.

When they say genetics play a role in bodybuilding. I truly believe it pertains to what your body can withstand and how much/how long.

It all depends on the person.

Ever here of Derek Anthony? Look him up. Was very open about his usage and seo use. Now is suffering from kidney failure.

While others use what he used and are in perfectly good health

Depends on how much your body can tolerate which is why blood work is important to check kidney function.

There is no magic amount where kidneys become compromised.
There are so many variables, genetics being a huge one.

I personally don't think AAS is the kidney destroyer it has been made out to be. I think that if BP is kept under control, kidney stress from AAS use is minimal. High alcohol content from massive doses is not good for the kidneys, but I think that sane AAS usage (and preferably human grade AAS) should be filtered by the kidneys properly without any major issues.

Dehydration and diuretics are the kidney killer (and high BP as previously mentioned), as well as other drugs (recs/OTC and script Painkillers, etc). I suspect that the kidney issues we see in many high level BB'ers is from one or more of those things.
I think that some people forget that seemingly harmless things like OTC ibuprofen can damage the kidneys if taken excessively, which a lot of people do without batting an eye.

foamy urine

Do any of you guys have foamy urine? Mine is foamy almost every single time except when I haven't had much protein. The interesting thing though is my urinalysis comes back negative for protein when I've had it tested in the past. Just curious if anyone else has the same issue.

I was born with only one kidney so I'm trying to learn as much as possible about all of this and not take any chances. On 100mg of test a week for TRT. Doc said not to worry about low dose test, protein intake, etc. Creatinine is fine. BUN levels are high, but doc said it was no big deal. BP is usually 120/70ish. Just found out a few months ago at 32. Freaked me the fuck out!

Is the foam from the turbulence of the stream hitting the water and temporary or does it build up and linger (like soap suds)?

Tren can be very harsh on kidneys.

Hasn't this been proven to be just an internet myth? There is nothing in tren that is specially harmful for the kidneys but since tren dehydrates you and drives the water out of your body making you harder and more cut you will dehydrate if you do not drink enough water so indirectly it can be hard on your kidneys. Tren is harsher on cholesterol, BP and liver values though.

...is my understanding....

Yes, your correct. Directly or indirectly, taking tren can potentially cause kidney issues via sides.

I agree. Tren is very hard on cholesterol, bp and the liver. I've tried almost every aas and nothing has elevated my liver values in the past like tren even with liver supps. Winny was the worst at screwing up my lipid profile and tren was a close second.

you must be mad thinking of taking gear with one kidney at 32 years of age, i would be looking after that one kidney very carefully.

It builds up like soap. If it was gross I'd post a pic. I don't want to get banned

Check your urine PH levels, if your urine is more acidic or an imbalance of your Acid/ Alkaline levels you'll have very foamy urine. You can buy PH strips at some health food stores, some drug stores carry them also.

I would suspect a vast majority here are more acidic than they know. What's your diet look like?

As a side note, I'm not suggesting this is what your issue with foamy urine may be from, as there's several other causes ie; hydration status, diabetes,Proteinuria from CKD, liver damage ect, ect.

I have had foamy urine at various times each day for years. For a while I went through a panic and even spent thousands on kidney specialists and hundreds of urine test strips:rolleyes:

Heavy exercise will result in more protien being lost in the urine.

If the dip stick comes back normal then you're fine.

Most of the kidney damage I've looked into in detail from bodybuilding suggests that, unless someone is using something directly renal toxic (or if it's metabolites are), the kidneys get beat up mostly from:

-Hypertension
-Dehydration and diuretics (competition)
-Poor BG control (irresponsible/abusive GH use)

-Doing more work to support out lifestyles, weights, diets, etc (though this isn't necessarily a problem for the kidneys, it can make the kidneys more vulberable to damage from the first three points).

Well first of all I've never done a cycle. So it's not like I've abused the shit out of it. I'm on TRT as my levels were in the 200s. I don't think I would ever do anything over a 500mg per week of test cycle. You really think that would cause problems if blood pressure was kept in check?

Also it's not like a guy who donates a kidney or loses one later in life. Apparently the one I do have developed larger to compensate for the other one not developing. This all happened while I was in my mother's womb. So doc said don't worry about protein, etc. He said to live a normal life. It still freaks me out, though.

This is such an open ended question and I don't see why you would expect an exact answer. That's like asking how much heroin would it take to overdose. Just be smart, don't blast obscene doses, and get regular physicals and blood work.

[ he said live a normal life ] so you think taking 500mgs of test is normal.
