How much AAS will cause kidney problems

[ he said live a normal life ] so you think taking 500mgs of test is normal.

No, I don't. And I didn't say that I did. And I never have taken 500mg of test in a week.

But lots of you guys with "normal lives" have, so I'm just trying to get opinions on lowish doses of test on kidney health. None of this is "normal." Me not going out to eat and eating shit with my friends and avoiding bars and stuff isn't "normal" either. I'm just asking for opinions, man.

no one hear can say that if you take 300mgs or 400mgs or 500mgs of test that you will be fine . its a risk no matter what you take, these are drugs remember. just trying to help.

so if bp is the kidney killer, what is everyone taking to lower blood pressure while on? older gents seem to get scripted bp meds more often then the young chaps around here

Im old (43) so i get hydrochlorothiazide. I take 50mg daily

Check your urine PH levels, if your urine is more acidic or an imbalance of your Acid/ Alkaline levels you'll have very foamy urine. You can buy PH strips at some health food stores, some drug stores carry them also.

I would suspect a vast majority here are more acidic than they know. What's your diet look like?

As a side note, I'm not suggesting this is what your issue with foamy urine may be from, as there's several other causes ie; hydration status, diabetes,Proteinuria from CKD, liver damage ect, ect.

If you eat lots of protein 90% chance that you will have acid urine. That does not mean there is a problem. Acid is produced by metabolism as well. Your body dumps it in the kidney. The problem would be if your blood is acid that means you have an underlieing condiditon that needs fixing because its causing a metabolic acidosis

BP

Some people respond different to gear. My doc put me on bp meds when I found out I had type II diabetes. He said hey I know you do gear etc but rather be safe then sorry and I have always had good BP but he did not want me to stress my kidneys. I had did a lab on tren and my labs came back perfect go figure. But with diet and high protein your always going to have high bun numbers. Lots of water is very important in keeping your system up to par.

Water pills are a big consern on kidney function also.

There is no magic amount where kidneys become compromised.
There are so many variables, genetics being a huge one.

I personally don't think AAS is the kidney destroyer it has been made out to be. I think that if BP is kept under control, kidney stress from AAS use is minimal. High alcohol content from massive doses is not good for the kidneys, but I think that sane AAS usage (and preferably human grade AAS) should be filtered by the kidneys properly without any major issues.

Dehydration and diuretics are the kidney killer (and high BP as previously mentioned), as well as other drugs (recs/OTC and script Painkillers, etc). I suspect that the kidney issues we see in many high level BB'ers is from one or more of those things.
I think that some people forget that seemingly harmless things like OTC ibuprofen can damage the kidneys if taken excessively, which a lot of people do without batting an eye.

Don't forget about myoglobin!

Do any of you guys have foamy urine? Mine is foamy almost every single time except when I haven't had much protein. The interesting thing though is my urinalysis comes back negative for protein when I've had it tested in the past. Just curious if anyone else has the same issue.

Myoglobin will cause foamy urine and it totally normal.

I have had foamy urine at various times each day for years. For a while I went through a panic and even spent thousands on kidney specialists and hundreds of urine test strips:rolleyes:

Heavy exercise will result in more protien being lost in the urine.

If the dip stick comes back normal then you're fine.

Myoglobin will cause a dipstick to show protein even though it's not the same and it's normal to have myoglobin in the urine, additional testing on the urine can rule out protein.

It's cardio that lowers BP, this is what everyone ISN'T doing.

You are correct about too much protein and acid urine, AND myoglobin will damage the kidneys in an acidic environment!
