How much cardio do you do to get stage ready.???

i personal only needed 20 min or so fasted in the mornings the last few weeks.

I follow a very low carb diet year round and i think that has alot to do with the need for cardio and what type.

I hired "Alex A" once and he had me on twice the carbs i normally ate , very low fat and i ended up doing an hr a day by 6 weeks out. I just got burned the fuck out on the diet and wasting my life (and muscle) on the human hamster wheel.

I fully agree that excessive cardio is a crutch for poor diet

That's a Vague statement. You can't just say whoever is doing cardio has a poor diet. I dieted my ass off while doing cardio.

I believe there's 2 type or dieters. One that believes that keeping calories high yet still in a deficit while relying on cardio to burn the fat off, and dieters that refuse to do cardio and drop calories through out every time they stall.

unless DNP, high t3 and clen run in your blood while your IGF hitting 500; you're one of these dieters.

looking great for no cardio. tell us that formula tenny

When a person comes to me saying they need to do cardio, I tell them to get a step tracker... 90% of the time they're getting 5000 steps.... yeah that's why you need to do a lot of cardio

for one.....I don't try to cram 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag...
meaning..

if your a fat fuck....and only give yourself 12 weeks to prep...
your fat ass will need cardio....

the only time a 12 week prep will KINDA work, is if you are below
10% bf.....

I like to do 52 week preps.....yes 52 weeks to mentally prepare....

I have to repeat it ...52WEEKS?
More power to you.

How much gh do you use during pre contest, out of curiosity

that pic is Zero cardio...

ZERO GH....

ZERO clen, dnp or diuretics.

its a life style....technically one can say....they are in CONSTANT
prep....so yea, I start mentally preparing a year ahead of time....
slowly changing things that need to be changed....going from your
normal JOE BLOW gym goer....to full blown contest prep is just silly..

this is where and WHY people fail...

I will say slower gains are more permanent gains...

hes saying EXCESSIVE cardio....look guys....its all an individual thing...

if you are in COMPLETE control of how your body works (or very close to it)
there is just no need for EXCESSIVE cardio...

most of the time its a mind fuck....

we had a female...that just would not listen to NO CARDIO....she was
losing muscle...and we didn't know what the hell was going on...we thought
she may have been sick or something...

and then lied about it....saying she wasn't doing any...I just couldn't believe it
she trains with her husband....I had to get a hold of him and ask him.
sure enough....he said "yea she does an hour fasted every single morning
the treadmill is in the other bedroom"...

point is....she didn't need it....at least not an hour, or everyday...
and it was hurting her...

I finally called her a liar, and she came clean....

moral of the story....there is a place for cardio....WHEN ITS NEEDED...

Quick scenario. You're in a calorie deficit, drugs in check, cardio minimal then after 2 weeks.. you plateau, what do you do?

A- drop cals
Or
B- Add cardio

Correct? is there anything else you would do ?

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was exaggerating. Of course you burn more than 100 calories if you walk
for an hour.

My point was, no matter how much time you spend on cardio, if you
decrease your rest periods to 30 seconds - 45 seconds between your sets,
you will burn more BF than doing endless hours of cardio.

Try what I mentioned.
Do 10 sets of 20 reps on DL's with 1 minute rests.
Start with 135 and see if you can do it!

plateau HOW....???(scale not moving.....??...not a good measure of "plateau")...(mirror not changing...??)

whats your macros...??? (cal. deficit is one thing, but where are the cals going) %'s

what kind of training..??? (whats the frequentcy..??) how do you train..??
heart rate during training...??

I think people get way to hung up on calories rather than nutrients , I know my body type and know that if i have excessive carbs even with lower than maintenance calories that im gonna have to do alot of cardio.

Now in a totally carb free diet with a moderate fats i don't need much is any cardio even when not in a big calorie deficit.

i like to shoot for 2g protein per pound of body weight (slightly less at 500g) and 1/2g to 3/4g fats per pound. I typically slowly add in gear , as this happens i get more endurance so i will increase so ill add sets to each body part , while keeping rest between sets down to 30ish seconds.

Zero Cardio, Zero Stimulants, Zero GH at 26. It is a shitty picture, but you get the point. Tenny is right, if you are fat in the offseason, then you need lots of cardio.

are you guys lying to win who does the least amount of cardio medal? No one in this thread does cardio and gets peeled? Ok

TELL US YOUR SECRET. Are your calories extremely low? how lean are you starting off?

Or am I the only one that used to get to an hour daily till a week out to get stage ready?

Bodies are different. Cutler used to do an hour a day ore contest. Phil health did also an hour. Shawn ray reached hour and a half stated in one of his contest prep videos. Are they all doing it wrong?

Agree. Not that I've been where I wanna be contest condition wise I do believe this is true.

I see guys like Jose Raymond, Cutler, Kai Greene, who do tons and tons of cardio and are fucking tanks.

For me on the other hand I look at a treadmill and I start losing muscle. I think diet is 80% Training 15% and Cardio 5% or less in terms coming in with the hard earned muscle you made during off season.

Key is don't get FAT!!! My body responds so much better to everything now that I stay leaner

first time back deadlifting this week and I couldn't. I made it to my first heavy set and was gassed.

Upped my reps and decreased time in between sets on legs as well and I had tunnel vision for most of the workout from lack of oxygen. I was starving all day on back and leg day after those workouts.

The GOAT did two sessions of cardio in prep for the Olympia.

I was doing 90 mins a day in prep until a week out. I was doing that from 3-1 week out. Macros the last two weeks were 350 pro/50 carb/35 fat with one high carb day a week. Started at about 30 mins and bumped slowly. HIIT was added 6 wks -3 wks out.

I'm not convinced that something is wrong if you need a lot of cardio. Any time, any dieting style for me to get shredded it's always got up there. And I used a prep coach that is pretty well respected around here.
