My current endo does not allow any of his patients to supplement with anything extra.

I once got a warning for having my test levels higher than they should have been at my "normal" hrt protocol - he threatened to stop treating me if it happened again.

On one hand, I understand his concern, as I could see it becoming an issue for his practice writing a bunch of scripts for T if all of your clients routinely test way above range, but on the other hand, I'd love to have a doc who I could be candid with.

Who has an "open" relationship with their doctor, and can speak freely about anything? What are the advantages/disadvantages of this approach?

Who keeps everything quiet & why?

Being in the United States, one of my concerns would be the legal impact full disclosure could have... I'm not sure what the laws would keep private, and what could come back to bite me.

If it seems that there is enough benefit, I'd consider "doctor shopping" for a better level of care.

If it's appropriate, please also state what country you are in, as this might affect the legality of any such decisions.

Thanks!

In the U.S. anything told to yr Dr. or anything he knows cannot be availed to ANYONE without yr consent and that includes law inforcement.

I keep it so quiet that even when I'm under anesthesia, and they ask my if I take anything, I always say hell no. I even believe my own lies. There's one Doc who's cool and will run bloodwork, but he's cash only, no insurance. He'll test anything you ask (IGF, gh serum, etc)

Everything you divulge stays on their computers and will come up for life insurance, etc

I would be careful. Some things they chart in your records while others can be kept confidential. I have heard of people having insurance issues by saying too much. Be as honest as you can be just use discretion. Insurance and medical care is like oil and politics,, dirty business.

My MD and cardiologist both know what i use and do. They dont know a lot about aas and alwasy ask me questions about it. They never write down or document any of it.
i feel beter telling them in case something happens they ould know my history.

Thanks for the reply D...

This is exactly what I'm looking for - a relationship with my doctor where I don't have to worry about "taboo" issues...

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get to that point with your MD? Did you work up to it over time, or did you lay out what you needed in the beginning?

Also, was this doctor recommend to you, or was it just luck of the draw?

Thanks again!

He just has to protect his ass and he may honestly believe he is protecting his patients.
And you have to be alittle wiser and stop earlier before going in for your routine blood work. They can never prove you did any other test then whats prescribed so you do not have to worry about the law unless you are found in possesion of gear thats not scripted. Unless that happens you are in a pretty good spot legally that few others can be in. But he probably is seriously about not using so you got to make sure if anything other than the range hes shooting for its lower when your bloodwork is done.

And wear a sweatshirt with long sleeves, Lol!

He has been my dr since 2000. But from 2007 my body started changin drastically, off season i would go to 270 lbs and for contest i would drop down to 220 so he kind a suspected what i was doing and one day asked me about it. He said hes not gonna tell me its bad and to stop bec he doesnt know a lot about it, but looking at me it looks like i know what i am doing and stuff... Then from that day i slowly started talking to him about it. He also said i helped him understand more about aas and he started researching and reading more about it.

For cardiologist, he is my friend and we work out together sometimes. Hes been cardiologist for 25 years and he understands what i do. I am kind a paranoid and get panic attacks easy, so when i feel like something is wrong i tell him right away and he puts my mind in to ease. Helps a lot :)

I actualy have a cardiologist thats a freind and he tracks all my doses , diet , training and pays from labs every 3 months.

it came about from him claiming how horible steroids were for your helth and that just a few years of abuse would send you to an early grave , that was a year and half ago.

He is currently taking 2 iu HGH , 200mg test and 100mg Deca a week:p

Nice! I'm sure that he not only looks much better, but depending on age, probably feels much better too!

Yep , he is 59 and says he can't remember feeling this good even in med school.
he is now looking to get incorporated with a couple Edos that are currently pretty much against HRT but his data is realy swaying their ideas to the right direction

It's amazing how quickly people change their mind once they experience more "optimal" hormone levels... I don't know how I ever survived day to day prior to going on hrt 2 years ago.

The only docs I'll say anything about is a couple I have in my family since they aren't mine. My primary provider has no idea, even though he asks me every time I'm in.

Very trustworthy guy and we've been friends for a long time. I'm sure he'd be mature about it and keep it off my record (only cuz my bloodwork has always been great and have no issues that could come from gear yet) but I won't risk taking that chance that it does make it's way onto my file cuz you never know.

The main thing you need to worry about is what is going to go into your medical records. If he puts in sensitive material, it can come back to bite you.

I have been going to the same doc since I was about six years old (I'm 27 now) and she had just graduated from medical school. My mom and grandparents all went to her father before he retired so I am very comfortable with her and do let her in on much of what I do and it stays off the record. She does not condone aas usage but does not judge my decisions and is very eager to learn more about the subject.

I'm pretty open with everything with my doc - never had any real issues but I'm also not on any TRT or anything either - yet!

Full but only because my doc is a close family friend and no issue keeping that topic off record. What would worry me more is getting blood work done while on cycle, this is on your record, the poor results! This would worry me more then anything imo.

If i didn't know the doc really well personally then no, i don't see myself telling a stranger about my use.
