How much weight have you gained back the day after a show??

Just curious as to others experiences on one day post contest weight gain??? Anyone who's competed it'd be awesome if you'd put your two cents in, let's see who's gained the most the quickest and how did you feel/look with that added weight all of a sudden???
 
All time worst I am not proud of was 36 pounds in 6 days....I was a complete mess had to re-dehydrate myself and take strong diuretics from the doctor to get only "some' of the water off me.

I had dieted 24 weeks straight with one cheat meal for my first show ever.....I learned alot from that expirience as I have never felt that bad ever in my entire life...
 
After dieting for 20 weeks straight for my first show I gained 30 lbs in 3-4 days I think. Like bulldog said, I felt absolutely terrible. Trying to walk was hard enough, but trying to go up stairs was another experience in itself. I thought I was gonna die. My head felt like it was going to explode, I could hardly catch my breath, and lets not talk about the water retention or trying to sleep on my back, lol!!!!!!

I learned a valuable less and since then avg. about 10 lbs at most after shows. Slowly integrating water/liquids and starting cardio right back up for a little while is what helps the most now.
 
LOL Franco you're a pu$$y. I gained 41 lbs in 5 days.

I wanted to die. I LITTERALLY could not walk more than a few steps before my low back cramped up and I was out of breathe. It SUCKED! Cool though..........lol
 
34 lbs in three days and 90lbs total over the next 6 months ...it really sucked hitting the New Year over 320lbs ttttt.
 
My first 2 shows I actually lost weight the day after or stayed stagnant. This year, by that monday I put on 25-30 lbs and had extreme headache, backache and couldnt open my eyes very well. I remember doing seated legs curls that monday with my eyes shut through the workout. However, by Thursday I was down 10-15lbs and back on track for the next show and actually came in leaner from the shock to my system. Basically just slowly re-introduce fluids, it is mostly a water issue and I knew that the first 2 shows, but I just couldnt resist pounding the diet pepsi's and gatorades all night this time around, much more satisfying than any food.

My first show ever I went from 186 on Saturday to 228 on Tuesday. Horrible! I had no idea that could happen. Now I average about 10-15lbs the week following.

first show went 175 (saturday) to 203 (tuesday) ... when i poked my ankles i couldn't even feel the bone i was so waterlogged lol
 
Saw a middleweight gain 70lbs in 3 days, ending up in the hospital with pancreatitis.
 
First show just a few weeks ago...weigh in 176...3 days and many buffets later 212 and sloppy as hell....Felt like shit even though I was in the gym the sunday right after the show keeping up with cardio...Still holding a good amt of water a month later but wght is leveling off....taking a break from aas and then come october here I come 240 at a reasonable bodyfat % (hopefully)
 
Gotta be really careful after a show. Eating a ton and gaining all that weight that fast puts you at serious risk to go into cardiac arrest. It's no joke.
 
my first show i went from 187 on saturday to 216 on monday,i never drank any water after the show just pepsi,,, dumb,,, anyway my vision was blurry and i felt like i was ready to die ..............
 
this is prolly a stupid ?, but I know next to nothing about competing, so I'm just going to ask. Is this all water weight? or is the body fighting to get back it's fat levels so it's a mixture of fat and water? but then fat gain couldn't happen that fast right?
 
Not a stupid question.Initial weight gain is largely as a result of fluid retention caused by (a) the body's normal tendency to a homeostatic balance, after drying out for a show (b)all the extra carbs ingested during this period that the body has not seen in months, change the cell and circulatory osmolarity.In addition to this making you more thirsty than usual, this fluid is retained in the cells and does not simply move into the urinary system as it usually would.This process will be exascerbated further if you used diuretics prior to the show, by a rebound reaction to discontinuing the meds - thus retaining even more fuid.

And yeah it can be dangerous suddenly putting all this extra load on your heart ie.congestive heart failure,dyspnea,and possibly even more serious consequences.But damn it feels good letting go and eating what you please after months of strict dieting.

its the same every time. and every time i say never again.
 
The most I gained was 20lbs in a week. Talk about feeling like shit! The night of the show I ate so much I couldn't sit down cause my stomach was so huge! I've learned my lesson and will try to never do that again. I hear so many people say how they look so good the day after a show but I just look like the video game character Kurby after mine, except I have a tan lol.

after 15 + weex of dieting went from 263 down to 207 then from 207 up to 240 in 2 days then gained over a total of 70 lbs 3 weex after the show. Last show went from 220 weigh in sat morn. to 245 nex morn 255 3 days later ..... hahah You guys dont know edema till when u wear birkenstocks and in between the sandle straps u have a bubble of fluid under your skin. And yes I am a sick man...
