How often do y'all replace your training shoes?

My shoes start to get super funky after around 6 months, lol.

They are not really worn out, just full of funk.

How often do y'all replace yours and does anyone have any tips to extend the life of your shoes?

I have multiple pairs for lifting and running. They last me forever. I alternate around 4 pairs.

This is a good idea. I just buy a few pair of converse, they are pretty cheap and rotate wearing them so they last longer.

had the same ones for 2-3 years... they are wrestling shoes so i only wear them in the gym and dont walk around too much elsewhere with them tho

Every time I go into Nike haha. No I get the Superfeet soles and replace my soles with them. If only used for the gym, my shoes last over a year and they get trashed with all my cardio. I have so many pairs to choose from but they all look new bc they are only for the gym.

For training I could go years..

If you run for cardio - you really need to change your shoes every 3-6 months and if you run daily it's good to alternate shoes. An old salty dog gunny that could run like Phidippides told me that years ago. He said its important for knees. Funny he was worried about knees but used to pull a huge drag IMMEDIATELY before running and for the first quarter to half miles puffed out with each breath like a choo choo.

That would depend on your "training" of course. My sports training shoes will last 2 weeks - 2 months depending on time of year. I literally rip the side from the sole usually. For weights....more worn out the better.

$$$ saving tip. Look into ShoeGoo. That stuff will extend the life of any shoe for years and one tube will cover at least a dozen pair.

i got 5 year old niike frees that i kept wearing and wearing, got over a couple thousand miles on em, holes on top.
they wore unevenly, my outer right foot hit lower than the big toe parts and after 30 miles walking that way my back started hurting and i have achilles tendonitis pretty bad.
thats what i get for being a penny pincher.
