Im curious, whats yall's take on drinking? How often do you drink and when you do what do you drink?
I love me some cold beer but it certainly doesnt help my physique any :banghead:

If it doesn't add muscle, decrease body fat, or have any health benefits, why would any BBer or fitness person do so. It's bad enough many of us use gear.

A couple of drinks, 4 or 5 days a week. I believe this helps support HDL levels.
 
Some Holidays, but other than that never.

but this is more my own personal choice, its non bosybuilding related but ive just never been a big fan of alcohol or liked how it makes alot of people

if i drink i might do it once a year (on very special occasion)

on the other hand i use recreational drugs once every 3-4 months, but then again sometimes i might not use any for 10 months, and then twice in one month, but it averages to every 3-4 months

this is more my thing if im going to have a big night out in that rare occasion and get my social fix

just personal preference

Mack you know better! Consumption in moderation can have a myriad of health benefits! The point of diminishing returns happens very quickly though, at which point the effects become quite harmful

Never drink either. Work too hard in the gym and on my diet to ruin it with alcohol.
 
Few glasses of wine several times a week. Once in a while liquor, very rarely beer. I am not so obssessed with bodybuilding that I'm not going to enjoy my life, and for me having wine with my wife while we watch a movie or sit on the porch is a big part of that. My blood work is always good, blood pressure is perfect and though I'm not that big by this board's standards, I'm in good shape. YMMV.
 
Used to be pass out drunk several times a week, now I have a drink or two every 4-5 months and get drunk maybe once a year (special occaisons). I can't handle the hangovers anymore, I had my fun time with alcohol now it just bores me, it's not who I am anymore.



Plus I quit smoking last year and if I get drunk I just want to chain smoke.
 
I average a beer once a month, but I forget about it in the fridge . I try to drink some wine every now and again as well
 
Know This Truth

Guys,

I am not judging you, that's not my place. But know the truth, even if you do it in moderation, here's what happens, regardless of any health benefits it may have.

ALL alcohal is processed using sugar in distillation/refinement.
Alcohal rapidly raises your blood sugar, trust me on this, I've been diabetic for 48 years. When your blood sugar raises rapidly, your pancreas kicks in and releases a large burst of insulin so your body maintains normal blood sugar levels. Same holds true with ice cream, candy, sweets, etc.

Here's the down side. When your pancreas does it's job and releases gobs of insulin, you put yourself in a "FAT STORING" mode. That's not my opinion, that's fact. So if that's OK with you, by all means, belly up to the bar.

I am happy to see so many "nevers" or "only special occasions" comments.
