How often do you drink alcohol?

Gave up drinking about 4 years ago....never liked it much anyway. Always made me anti social...
 
Almost never. Red Wine with a beef dinner on occasion. Beer bloats me like nothing else.
 
yikes

lately alot cuz the holidays....fml....

but usually drink one or two nights a week maybe a couple drinks when i drink like this i dont notice a diff in my physique ....but i am over 10 % :(
 
Havnt drunk for 8 years now, dont miss it at all, took me a long time to give up tho, hangovers were off the scale,which turned into panic attacks, if booze was discovered today it wud be made illegall same as tobacco, goverments make too much money on them both (tax) to do anything about it now lol!

I drunk, but not to get drink when I drank. Moderation with everything is key.

On the alcohol making you fat comment/discussion. The only reason alcohol is bad for body composition is because the body doesn't have storage capacity like it does for other macronutrients(lipo cells, glycogen, etc.). When a person drinks alcohol the body has to burn it immediately. If that person is not depleted and eats along with the alcohol, the body stores some of those consumed calories in food in order to prioritize the alcohol expenditure it must do because of the lack in ability to store it.

I am not judging you, that's not my place. But know the truth, even if you do it in moderation, here's what happens, regardless of any health benefits it may have.

ALL alcohal is processed using sugar in distillation/refinement.
Alcohal rapidly raises your blood sugar, trust me on this, I've been diabetic for 48 years. When your blood sugar raises rapidly, your pancreas kicks in and releases a large burst of insulin so your body maintains normal blood sugar levels. Same holds true with ice cream, candy, sweets, etc.

Here's the down side. When your pancreas does it's job and releases gobs of insulin, you put yourself in a "FAT STORING" mode. That's not my opinion, that's fact. So if that's OK with you, by all means, belly up to the bar.

I am happy to see so many "nevers" or "only special occasions" comments.

1 or 2 drinks every once n while usually never I don't like to drink got to piss every second and hangovers are not worth the trouble! and having a life style in the gym 24/7 and drinking outside it makes me just feel guilty as sin! that's why i don't do it~
 
I hardly drink , maybe a good single malt or a beer. but actually this thread made me sort of want to ... I can picture myself sipping some of the grey goose we keep in the freezer...

Oh god Jameson's is so smooth but the hangover I get from it is the worst in the world

Thats what my buddy said too, but it didnt seem to effect me any the next day :headbang:
 
I usually have 3 drinks a night. I like the feeling and never take it over that level.
