How to get a pump on Keto?

Love being on keto diet and getting to change my endo body, but really struggle with not getting a pump. I get 5-6g sodium/day and have broth bass drink before workout. Anything else people can suggest? I also take creatine daily.

A lot of water and a lot of sodium. That's weather Keto or not.
 
1. Make sure you have a good keto macro set up (70f/25p/5c)
2. Become fat adapted (stay in ketosis long enough for your muscle tissue to start utilizing ketones efficiently).
3. Keep sodium high (and I mean HIGH!!!!)
 
My split is currently: 50%P/45%F/5%C
If 6g sodium/day isn't doing it, what is safe upper limit? Drinking around 1gallon/day.
Also find I need less cals in keto compared to non keto- surmising that fat stores now being used for fuel so need less cals?
 
Make sure you have enough fat and sodium in your diet.
 
You guys beat me to it! Water and sodium play a crucial role. I like dosing a decent amount (1-2 grams) of sodium preworkout when possible. Works like a charm.

It's not as simple an answer as that. 1-10grams could be equally safe, long as other electrolytes and water are in balance.

If you raise it up, just make sure you increase your water intake and make sure your electrolyte intake (potassium, mag, calcium) are in check and you'll be alright.

But per your initial question, I'd increase sodium and fats. You could also look into taking some Hydromax or glycerol monostearate preworkout too
 
Ya. I remember having to intake a ton sodium to try and get a pump. It's easier the more insulin sensitive I am when I start the keto.

Eat two table spoons of olive oil 45 minutes
pre workout. Should get pretty pumped as long as sodium
and gear is high enough.
 
Spot inject trained area to initiate some blood flow. It's not a "real" pump but on keto it at least would help you feel full. Cialis pwo
 
I believe mag & pot are in check, but will keep in ratio when raising sodium.
Getting Olive Oil pre w/o sounds a good idea also[emoji106]
Glycerol Monostearate being hygroscopic I get, but it wouldn't knock me out of Keto?

Try upping your fat to 70% and lowering your protein to 25%. Keep carbs at 5%. That is a more traditional keto diet. I had the same issue as you when I started, along with cramps and some fatigue. All of it went away when I upped fat and dropped protein.

Thanks Michael- what does your 25%protein equate to in grammes? Still getting my head around the protein sparring effects of ketones!

I love keto. The keto kid over here. I don't really have a problem getting a pump as long as i am not slipping on the keto rules at all. Try some arginine and getting in your greens/micros on point.
