Most anabolic steroids cause a crash in HDL levels -I am on HRT and noticed that mine was still low.
A few months ago I started taking in about 2-4 0z wine and 4 0z organic grape juice ED now, as well as 90% Cocoa supreme dark chocolate 4 squares a day and 2-3 tea spoons of hersheys unsweetened extra dark cocoa powder in my coffee.

Recent blood work showed my HDL was up twenty points.

This is In addition to my normal dosing of Vitamin D 4-6,000 iu's and 10 grams Fish oils ED...also taking policasonal at 100 mgs a day as well and Gamma tocopherols (vitamin E)

I was prescribed Niaspan at 1000 mgs a day. I just can't tolerate the Niaspan even at 500 mgs a day even before bed and with an 81 mg aspirin.

Also to reduce BP a bit and thin the blood (instead of aspirin) plus reduce inflammation I will take Bromelain and add in vitamin C.

How do you find the taste on the 90% chocolate?

MG - why such a high dose of policosanol?

My flaxcrust pizza has done a pretty good job as well!! Pretty easy to make and a delicious no cheat treat on my dieting phase
 
Is the red wine more beneficial than supplementing with resveratrol and/or grapeseed extract seeing as though those are the nutrients you're looking for here?
 
Thanks for the post! I am currently with only 13 HDL and need to get it higher as quick as possible!

Will any of these also lower the LDL ?
 
Alcohol raises HDL - any kind of alcohol; vokda, bourbon, gin, beer, wine.

If you don't like to drink because of the taste, try putting a shot of vodka in fresh orange juice. Can't taste the vodka. Cranberry juice - same thing.

The more you drink, the higher your HDL goes. Three drinks is optimum. I raised my HDL from 85 to 115 while I was eating wildly. Of course, I was not on a cycle
 
MG - why such a high dose of policosanol?
I wanted to hit the HDL hard, normally I take 40-60 mg of poli and bumped it up.
 
Tried this yesterday but I think I went overboard... dunno about HDL levels but hungover levels trough the roof today

Hey MG, do you use unesterfied d-alpha Tocopherol or do use the acetate ester variety? Also, do you vary your vit D dose during summer months when you're getting sun exposure?

..I already drank my (& a few other peoples) life time allotment'food-smil

I have upped my vitamin C a bit since this and also have been using a bit more oil olive and macadamia nut in addition to the carlsons fish oil and my HDL is up in the low 50's. it hit rock bottom at 29 around 15 months ago and was averaging 30-35 which scared me cause I am not a heavy AAS user and use no orals or anabolics or anti-aromatases or anti-estrogens so it creeping down kind had me digging these supplements up to help..I will admit the dark chocolate gives you a nice "bitter" face and I have used more organic grape juice than wine lately.
