a few years ago (2-3) i tore the inner head of my right bicep off the bone, it seperated from the shoulder joint and went down. it only comes up about halfway up my inner arm. the "specialist" i went and saw said she would not recommend surgery but rather just massage it and it will go back to normal. well obviously that didn't work so now i've been training with it like this for a few years. i cannot get that arm bigger than 16 1/2". what type of workload do you think it can withstand? i have built the strength of it up to nearly the same as my left arm but only when doing under 6-8 reps. after that it tires very quickly. i really need some good advice here on how often i should train it. is surgery even still an option? i'm not sure it's a complete tear because i can still kind of flex it, it almost just seems to have been pushed down the inside of my arm.

I've got the exact opposite of you. Mine tore near the elbow and balled up just under my delt. There is about a 3" void from the inside of my elbow to where the bicep starts. I train mine as well and find the same thing... 6-8 and it's over. I can flex mine as well. I have no idea what to do either except work it as though it was normal.

I doubt surgery would still be possible because the muscle is so short now. It wouldn't have the elasticity to stretch back to it's original insertion point. Even if surgery would still help, I doubt you could get it done unless you paid for it yourself. Insurance most likely wouldn't cover it since it isn't a medical necessity. You should have found a doctor who WOULD recommend surgery at the time it happened, but not much you can do about that now.
