any HRT services in the US take United Health Care? just wondering, I would like to go on the cheap but also be able to fly with test when I travel.

Have a better chance finding a endocrine doc who will prescribe then ins will cover it.

I know my buddies BCBS basic is about $5 a shot if you go to the nurse to get it done.

I've been on HRT for years and I've had varied insurance coverage over that time. Of course, my entire therapy is prescribed, but each insurance was different regarding what it would cover. Some covered nothing, some covered just the test (but only partially), and others covered a few of the attendant meds, but none of my insurance carriers covered everything. It isn't a matter of what insurance the HRT clinic or doc accepts--its what your insurance covers. When a provider accepts certain policies, that just means you don't have to file a claim separately. Just check your policy and see what meds related to HRT, if any, are covered.

It is highly unlikely that your insurance will ever cover your H.R.T. unless your levels are under 300ng/dl. And that being said. Your total level lets say is 400 + and your free testosterone / bio-available testosterone can be in the low range.

You should / could be on HRT and your insurance will still not cover it.

Big insurance companies set a requirement for claims based on Total testosterone alone

My insurance will cover test if the level is below my doctors labs range (250) or if continuing treatment. So I have gone through a clinic and can have my insurance pay for continued treatment.

Check your insurance plans rules on coverage.
