If I got on a cream or inj 100mg test a week say forever, how would that effect my testicles and natural production?

I just turned 40 and have run a few cycles of Test at 500 mg a week for 10 weeks before and love how I feel.

Any suggestions from those older guys who are on for just that reason?
Better libido, better overall well being?

Yes. It will shut you down. Almost immediately. Testicular shrinkage certainly will occur but some people seem to report that they reach a certain size and then they just stay there with no further shrinkage.

I've never let it go that far. I just use low-dose HCG for a few weeks and then go on about my business.

It is something that should be addressed with your physician if you notice those particular side-effects.
