Hypoglycemia and GDA's

Due to my somewhat frequent symptoms of low blood sugar I purchased a glucose meter. I never have symptoms of high blood sugar.
I know I should see a doctor and at some point will, but there is no pattern to when the low blood sugar hits, it's usually two times or so a week although I can go weeks without it hitting.

My first thought is it had something to do with my workout timing but I'm not too sure of that because it seems to hit more on off days.

I just received the meter on Friday and ran a test which was about 4 hours after my last food. The glucose level was 79 which seems good and I was feeling fine at the time.

I workout first thing in the morning so today I took my pre-workout and sipped my intra during the workout. This is 50 grams hbcd and 15 grams EAA's. About an hour after my workout I started to feel the onset of low blood sugar so I measured and it was at 51.

My question right now is, would a GDA be something that would help low blood sugar? Obviously this is something insulin related and I should add I've never used insulin.

Most people feel symptoms of hypoglycemia when their blood sugar is 70 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or lower I do. I would suggest you to take 3 tbs honey or 3 tbs of coconut sugar after trainig immediately and go home and eat a complex carb meal. Any time you start filing hypoglycemic during the day, take 1 tbs honey or coconut sugar under your tongue so it gets absorbed in your bloodstream faster.

arent HBCD very rapidly absorbing carbs?
youre probably spiking your blood sugar to hell and insulin aswell and then go hypo because insulin draws too much sugar from the blood...
this is called reactive hypoglycemia

when i was younger i got it from dextrose all the fkin time
drank a shake with 50g dextrose post workout, boom half an hour later extremely hypo

you need to stabilize your blood sugar or eat a solid meal right after your intra (or consume it pwo and eat afterwards, not intra)

Thanks Emeric.

HBCD's aren't the culprit, mainly because it's rare that it occurs after workouts, this time it just did. This has been occurring with me for a few years. But to be sure I'll be quicker with the complex carbs after training.

There hasn't been a pattern. It can happen in the afternoon, it can happen in the morning etc. I'm going to add more complex carbs and try to eliminate simple and see if that does the trick.

You may be seeing the first symptoms of adrenal fatigue. Spikes and drops of cortisone mess with BS.
