Go for it! If this is something you are passionate about and makes sense-do it. I owned a residential construction company for 22 years and sold it 2 years ago so I could persue my true passion in the culinary arts. Although our circumstances are different-going back to school was the best thing for my career and my life!

Well, how long have you been working there? You love for a job can change after working there for awhile. You could still be in that "honeymoon" period. Just trying to play with a bit of caution.

I would go for the MBA since that degree would be applicable to other careers. How are MBAs viewed in your line of work? Is the construction management masters viewed in a more faborable light? I would be willing to bet that the MBA carries more weight even in your field, espcially if it is earned from a good college.

The company I am with now is stacked with Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, Business Management indivudals who have graduated from schools such as Florida, Penn State, Florida State, FAMU, Illinois and others.
The work I am in is purely on management, business development, money, schedule, client relationships and profits. We are not geared toward the construction work it self; unless I was a superintendent. We are a Construction Manager, not a Design Build company.
I think the MBA would opend me to a more diverse window of opporunties in the future of management.
Learning how to properly management a project, money, time and the team is what I do looking to learn more about.

Great, hit that MBA then! Will the company contribute any money for you toward the education? Sometimes they do with the agreement that youll work there for x number of years.

Congrats on getting a job in these hard times. I know lots of people with many years of experience that cant find a job. Im looking to get back myself and cant find much of anything.

The company offers a reimbursement plan, however I have to be employeed for one entire yet. I am meeting with the HR manager and also the regional manager to speak about this next week.

I say single, as I am not married YET. I have been with the same young lady now for seven years. I have been dating her since she was 14 years old. I am very fotunate to have found her at such a young age.

Any interest in going for your PE License? I am in the construction industry and can guarantee that would be more useful (in construction) than an MBA.

Congrats man, im also a 23 yr old and im going to have to relocate across the country (AZ to ATL) so that i can go to portfolio school (a type of advertising school).

Just try and think positively about the economy and how good its going to be when we get out ! thats what i've been trying to do.
