I wish Phil Heath always hit the BDB in this manner

The first pic below is how Phil always hits the back double bicep

The second pic pointed out what I don't like about it

The insertion points of his lower lats protrude and cause the back to look like an assembly of parts, only half complete, and not a full symmetrical and aesthetic body

Compare with the way he is flexing in the third picture. Looking at the lower back and the way his lats lay flat, compared with the other way, he just looks so much more aesthetic and pleasing to the eye, like a real body and not just an assembly.

Does anyone else agree?

Different contest, different condition, different lighting. But obviously in the first image looks more dominating.

I'm just looking at the way he is posing

Back looks more aesthetic and actually more strong and durable too

The contest photo you must understand that phil is hitting the shot for the judges sitting directly below him not for the camera man in the audience. That's why he bends back so much to angle toward the judges directly below him.

He’s literally hitting a FDB in the bottom pic. If he hit his RDB like he does his front he would lack thickness and detail and you’d be saying the opposite lol.

^^ Correct. He's hitting a FDB in the 3rd photo.

Thanks for that.

Why don't contest pics and contest videos all come from the judges perspective?

I don't expect you to answer I'm just saying.

Makes no sense.

I know he is hitting a front double bicep what I am saying is his lats looks better from the back the way he does that

I disagree that it makes him look less thick

Rather it makes his lower lats look a lot thicker and his entire back look much better

You dont hit a FDB the same way you hit a RDB...Its going to look completely different.

Well...you’re wrong. Pretty sure everyone here agrees. Lmao
