I was wondering if anyone on here deals with IBS and what do you take be it natural or a drug from your doctor.

If natural supplement did it take the place of a drug from doctor or did your doctor suggest it? Just wondering thoughts around how to deal with IBS

I have been diagnosed with IBS but no longer suffer from any symptoms. What I did was a combination of excluding foods (trial and error), and medication.

The one med that did a difference for me was Omeprazole. I'm not sure what it's called in the US but a quick google seems to indicate it's "Prilosec". Give it a try. It's purpose is to control the stomach acid build up.

I have suffered with it for years from time to time. Often certain food set it off,,,then other times it seems like anything can make it act up. Stress effects mine quite a bit.

LOL!!!

I heard about a guy who had Crohns so bad that the only way he could sleep was to sit in a recliner at 45 degrees curled up the fetal position. The pain was that bad.

Anyway, he followed someone's advice & fasted (water only) for about a 1/2 day, then drank a 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. He then fasted until evening & drank another 1/4 cup & continued fasting until morning.

No more Crohns. He was a friend of my boss.

I have never been checked out but I'm sure I have IBS issues. My body seems to go in cycles. For example I can go a few months with normal stool with very little loose stool. Then something sets my body off and all I have is loose stool for a month or two. Everything I eat is a hit or miss. Some morning I can eat eggs, some I end up on the toilet with explosive diarrhea. One thing I can confirm everyone in the family can relate to my symptoms.


I broke the silence last Thanksgiving and everyone was like oh hell I have the same damn problem.. HA...

I have been dealing with ibs for almost 15 years..nothing has worked as far as meds. Stress triggersit fior sure. I bought a water ionizer and it literally stopped all the symptoms..

I have an IBS tendency. One thing that helps me is a good probiotic. I use Dr. Ohhiras Professional version of his probiotic supplement. It's made in Japan, it's expensive, but it works! I started using the maximum dose and have now tapered down to 2 caps every morning on an empty stomach. I had some serious problems awhile back after running a couple of courses of Antibiotics. I steer clear of any and all antibiotics unless absolutely necessary as they really cause an internal bacterial imbalance. If I do have to use Antibiotics, I up my dose of probiotics during and for awhile after my course of them to help maintain an equilibrium.

Thanks for all the respones thus far, my doctor put me on Bentyl which seems to help unless I forget to take then all hell is loose....

Seriously...

Medicinal Marijuana is good for IBS. You just have to figure out the dosage. Your not getting super high. Your just smoking or eating enough to combat the IBS.

I've witnessed alot of patients from aids, cancer, IBS, terminal, physically handicapped, to people suffering from chronic pain respond really well. Alot of these patients chose to stop taking the normal meds because ingesting those meds, eventually starts to fuck up your body. For some the normal dr prescribed meds have no effect. So for them Med marijuan was the way to go. Patiens age range from 21-78yrs old.

The only problem is some people over medicate. With real med issue's a little goes a long way. To much med could enhance the pain.
