Well we moved into a new house a few weeks ago and I have a ton of yard work to do and while cleaning up I see that there is a shitload of rail road ties was thinking about hooking up my toe-strap and walking the yard a few times to help with getting some size and strength back into the legs does any one have any comments on this ???
 
Any exercise that breaks down the muscle will work, it just seems unconventional and more likely to hurt yourself doing something like this.
 
It sounds like a poor mans Prowler sled
 
There was a bunch of hype on T-bag Nation (Tnation) about doing sled drags for leg work. What you're describing sounds like one.

There's probably some merit to it since it's an eccentric-free movement and can dub as cardio while stimulating the muscles in your legs. I think I saw a video of John Meadows and Antoine Vai doing something similar except they were doing it for back (rowing a sled)

But I would not over do it, just like everything else.
