What age would you start working out at? And what age would you even consider super supplements?
Which beginner program would you use, same one now or a different one, same days a week as you do now or more/less?
Hopefully this will be a good discussion.
Me personally, I'd start when I was 15 or 16, and train the way I do now.
I'd maybe start at 14 and work on form for 1 year till 15, then move up in heavier weights.
lets hear it!

i would have started them a bit earlier (super supplements).. been much more consistant in my training.. and actually followed a diet plan lol.. also would have taken more time to warmup .. and last but not least, i would have not trained so hard for such extended periods.. i always burned myself out..

Super supplements I wouldve waited longer into my early to mid twenty's before I started....Even though I dont take alot, but maybe I would have built a better base, who knows...I was 19 when I tried my first super supplement...

I wouldve learn to stay leaner thoughout the years, I got pretty damn fat when I was in my mid-twenty's thinking that bulking up was the answer to getting huge...I hit 270-280 and was huge but, I coundnt diet down from there...Maybe I did something wrong I dont know, but I always lost muscle coming down..Now I grow into my shows....

Goes back to above, eating better in the offseason...Cleaner foods produce cleaner and better results...Before I thought eating and eating and eating some more was the answer

I would use the knowledge I have now that there is no sense in putting all your eggs in one basket and realize there is much more to life than lifting and getting big. I would take more opportunities outside of bbing that i feel like I missed because I was too indulged in the lifestyle. I would have also cleaned up my eating big time from a young age, just to build a foundation. I wouldn't touch super supps, and realize that a lot of times with training, less is more (I remember when I was a teen I would train every day, a lot of times the same muscles, didn't know better).

I should have eaten and trained less - I believed in muscle magazines so I overtrained and ate too much. Also I should not have spent that much money on useless supplements. I have not touched any super supplements yet. I still remember when I bought my first mass gainer powder (half a year after starting training), the sales guy asked me if I wanted to buy test too

i wouldnt have wasted money on joe weiders anabolic mega packs and all those other overpriced supplements that didnt work

money

i would have taken all the time and energy from my 1st 20 years of training and made a boatload of money instead. then when i would have retired at 40 i would have started bodybuilding without a care in the world. i would most likely look the same now either way......but i did what i did.

I would have gone directly into strongman instead of powerlifting first. I did enjoy competing at worlds and met some great people but I feel I am alot stronger whole body-wise as a person since going to SM. I also wouldn't have been such a dick when I was younger.....

I would have started at 15, not taken 15 years off from serious training from 21 to 36 for partying, the band, the family, the Army and supplemented training in with them all, would have eaten better, would have trained more HIT style...................

How long can this list be? I have like 50 more.....LOL.

I would of finished college after highschool instead of working and going to school at 30.
I would of lost weight early on and tried to be more social.
At this point, I think I would of been better off without the 'supper supplements.'

I would have been kinder to the people around me and built up the inner man and not the outer man.

I would not have taken a super supp until I was 30. I first took super supps when I was in college and my football coach gave me some for a jacket of mine that he liked. I had no idea how to take the stuff and it actually hurt my performance on the field.

Regards

I would change only two things:

1. I would stay leaner year round
2. I would enjoy life a bit more

Some good responces so far, to the people who say they'd not do super supplements at all, why? Just personal choice, or did you do to much and it's really affected your health. Would you have done (alot less?) less, or stay true to your word and not even mess with them all together. (Phs included)

Some other things I'd think of. I would have started lifting for mass instead of trying to be a tonned 130 pound kid. Wasted proabley 6 months to a year on that. Oh and, I'd learn how to do all the excerises right, I didnt have anyone to show me so I kinda had to learn on my own. My upper body is suffering from it. And I would have never bought a single NO product.

At least in my case, and maybe I speak for some others, one of the main reasons I took them was because I thought it could help me go somewhere in this sport. This relates closely to the threads we've been having, where you either got it (genetics), or you dont. Unfortunately I got some bad advice when I was young, started ph's and stuff too early, and it took a few years of using that stuff for me to realize that I genetically dont have "it", whereas it would've been nice to know that before i started using anything (I was young and dumb). Knowing that now, I wish I would have stayed away from all the super supps and just lifted naturally knowing that the super supps wouldn't take me much farther anyway. I haven't experienced any ill-health effects that I know of, but its more the fact that if they're not going to help me a whole lot or take me anywhere, then why even bother with the health/legal risks? I think that's all I was getting at when I said I would have never done them.

Every single step or mis-step in my life has brought me to where I am at right now. I am truly blessed with a wonderful wife and a daughter that love me. I could go on and on about the blessings in my life. All things considered, I am thankful for who I am and where I am at...

I would of started lifting and eating better around age 15. Super supps I started at 25 so I probably would have started at the same age maybe a year or two earlier. Alot of times I wish I could go back and just see where I could have gotten naturally.

I would have started eating better and working out at 14.
