Anyone have a link on the effects of IGF and the heart? From the research I've done low dosage good. High dosage bad...in a nutshell shell

Are you referring to it causing LVH? If you’re just using typical doses of say 50-100mcg injects a few times a day for say 4 weeks then no, I personally wouldn’t sweat it.

Of course if you’re on the opposite side and using large amounts for long durations then yes it could lead to heart issues in the long run. Everything has a cost.

Just don’t abuse it! Also, use a reputable source cause there’s plenty of shitty IGF out there.

Effects on the Cardiovascular System

IGF-1 plays a specialized role in cardiovascular health by promoting the development and function of the heart and blood vessels. It enhances cardiac output, stroke volume, contractility, and ejection fraction, all of which are crucial for maintaining efficient heart function. IGF-1 also stimulates the remodeling of heart tissue, helping to repair damage after myocardial infarction and improve overall cardiac health (Macvanin et al., 2023).

The cardiovascular effects of IGF-1 are mediated through several mechanisms. First, IGF-1 promotes the proliferation and survival of cardiomyocytes, the muscle cells of the heart. This helps maintain the structural integrity and contractile function of the heart. Second, IGF-1 stimulates angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, which improves blood flow and oxygen delivery to the heart and other tissues. Third, IGF-1 has anti-apoptotic and anti-inflammatory effects, reducing cell death and inflammation in the cardiovascular system (De Giorgi et al., 2022).

Clinical studies have shown that low levels of IGF-1 are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and stroke. Conversely, higher levels of IGF-1 are linked to better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of these conditions. For example, a prospective cohort study patients found that participants with higher IGF-1 levels had a 55% lower relative risk of myocardial infarction compared to those with lower levels (Macvanin et al., 2023).

I'm debating low dosages injected sub Q.
50mcg every other day...opinions?

MOST IGF-Lr3 or DES protocols (i doubt you have increlex) are intramuscular and INTO a muscle group you just or are about to train.
This isnt similar to GH. These are peptides for localized effects.

I've done both ways with good results in the past

How high should IGF-1 levels be before causing problems? 300-350?

You're right. Low levels help with repair and growth, but higher doses can stress the heart long-term. There's some decent data on it from studies on GH athletes if you dig into PubMed.

Seems to me that this is the issue with most overuse…water retention and hyper tension…long term not good. Thicker blood from RBC, etc.
I truly think that its one of the biggest issues most overlook specially when they are younger.

I honestly think IGF1 levels are overrated if we are taking exogenous HGH. They’re much more relevant if they’re naturally too low or too high, since both are linked to specific disease states.

If our IGF1 levels go north of 350 from taking HGH, I don’t think that’s inherently harmful. However, I do think that very high HGH doses combined with AAS are harmful for reasons that are unrelated to IGF1 elevation.

I treat IGF1 like most other hormones when it comes to anti aging. I’d want to keep it in the normal range.

For bodybuilding purposes, I don’t really care what the IGF1 number says.
