Illia golem R.I.P...?😐

Ya it’s crazy, too, because you can think you’re on top of your health but not realize you’re still neglecting something important that could be going nuts in the background.

Like I do bimonthly blood work and echo yearly so figured I was pretty good
I neglected the ultrasound on my internals and when I finally got one discovered the liver tumors and pancreatic cyst. I can only imagine how long those have probably been there as I haven’t used orals or tren in like 7-8 years. Just sitting there with the risk of them turning malignant at any moment. Makes me wonder what else I’m accidentally neglecting that I’ll find out next đŸ€Ș.

Definitely wise to do as much testing as you can as frequently as you can (within reason) when playing with this stuff. Not worth becoming a statistic over something that would have been easy to prevent.
How did you go about getting your scans done? I asked in another thread and got responses saying to mention experiencing pain in my upper abdomen. Did you tell your doctor that you were experiencing pain causing them to order the scans? Or did you just flat out request a scan for some type of preventative measure?

I actually had a reason as I have had a hernia the last twelve years that sometimes bothers me so i wanted to finally get it checked out. I tried having it looked at 4 years ago but that doctor brushed me off so I’m thankful this one was more than happy to put in for the ultrasound. I would honestly do just what you noted
claim weird discomfort in your stomach or whatever symptom(s) will require them to take you seriously. It’s a shame it comes to that but unless you know your doctor is cool you have to game the system to get the care you need - very fucked up system.

There used to be a British guy on this board (and several others) many years ago, username was ThatBloke or something along those lines. Some of you may remember him.

He was in his 20s and often said he didn’t care if he died at 50. I wonder what happened to him
I think he was Australian? I am pretty sure he tore his pec and stopped lifting all together.

He might have been Aussie actually. Didn’t know about his injury.

Daniel you have to remember that a dozen or so additional medications and 30 different supplements will not solve the problem and sometimes even make it worse, as was the case with me, for example, when the cross-effects of many medications and supplements began.

Here, prevention is key, but above all, regular tests - heart eco, ECG, Doppler of blood vessels, mainly lower limbs, ultrasound of internal organs and blood tests, but not once every six months, but at least every 8-12 weeks

And now, let everyone ask themselves an honest question: when was the last time they had such a comprehensive "check-up".....

While I agree, I'd like to make a provocative statement...if we are involved in an endeavor that requires comprehensive "check ups" (meaning "must do's" not "well I'm just curious how it effects my body to optimize performance") every 8-12 weeks then there is something inherently wrong with the activity. It can't mean anything other than the activity is fundamentally detrimental.

That is the part that made me step away. There is no way at 41 years old I should need bloods done more than every 1-2 years. If you are <50 there is no reason on God's green earth any human should need blood work more than every 2-3 years...maybe yearly if you are at higher risk of various issues, etc. If you are <40 make it 3-5 years if you are at a healthy weight, bp good, no diabetes, etc. I'm not saying it's a hassle or expensive, I'm saying an activity that is potentially that harmful is pretty wild.

I mean how many extreme medical conditions even require "comprehensive medical reviews", bloods, etc. every 8-12 weeks? Heck the recommendation for 80 year olds is we have a thorough screening and bloods once a year, bi-yearly if high risk factors. My 93 year old grandpa gets one set of bloods a year.

Well yeah man no shit what we are doing is unhealthy. No one’s debating that.

But it’s what we love so we try and do it as healthy as possible.

I dunno about bloodwork every 2 to 3 years for a man in his 40s. A 40 year old should be getting a yearly blood PSA, may as well do a full panel at the same time.

Lol, ok. You know what I'd be doing if I wasn't into bodybuilding? Drinking beer and smoking weed everyday, with some other rec drugs thrown in for variety. That's what every male in my family did when I was growing up. I wouldn't be eating granola and doing yoga.

So is it unhealthy? Sure, but there are worse options...

I will not agree with what you write - ordinary people should do blood tests at least twice a year and imaging tests once a year if they want to be sure that nothing is wrong with them, let alone athletes - in every discipline, blood tests are done regularly every 3-4 months if you do it at a high level
