I'm trying to lose Stomach Fat and Build Muscle ... Help !!

Hi Guys,

A member has recommended me to join Professional Muscle, because you'll be able to help me as to what to do.

I'm a wierd figure at the moment. I'm 6ft 2", 15 Stone, and am basically overweight, but only on the top half (everything but legs!). I'm trying to loose stomach fat, and build muscle around the arms and back, and obviously the legs ... what do you guys recommend?

What would be the best types of exercises, foods, or perhaps even tablets or something?

I recommend strength training and getting your diet in order. You can't spot reduce without resorting to various injections and creams, and essentially, they're not what's going to serve you best right now anyway. You need to gain muscle and lose fat in general.

Cut out sugars, limit grains and other carbs (but eat all the green veggies you want).
Eat 200g of protein minimum.
Watch the fat intake, but don't obsess over it.
Don't go crazy with calorie restriction, try starting out at 2500 a day.

There's more to it than that, and you'll want to modify this over time (increasing carbs and protein) as you gain muscle, but that's good enough for a start.

Do some searching for a basic strength training program, I suggest "starting strength", but there are others that are well suited for beginners.

What about fruits? what amounts should he eat and how much? kinds?
 
Hire Phil...he's less than a dollar a day. You can find that much money on the ground every day.
 
To answer your question, no one thing works for everybody. I personally can eat carbs and get ripped, if I keep my protien is high. The only way some one can help you is by personally working with you for a period of time. Their is alot of factors involved here that we don't know. Rmember for any results is about training and eating right consistantly.

There is alot of factors involved to answer that question. I personally eat 2 per day and stay lean, usally bananas, grapes, apples, oranges.
