Improving Insulin Sensitivity on Off-Days Non-keto

Hey guys,

I know there are people who recommend going <100g carbs on off days to try and improve insulin sensitivity. However, is the carb amount a relative amount?

For example, I already do very well with carbs and my daily intake on training days are around 380g and increasing as I'm slowly adding food coming out of a diet phase. Because I do so well with carbs, on my off-days do I still have to stay below 100 grams of carbs or can it be increased to 150-200g carbs and still get that improved insulin sensitivity effect?

I know it's something that I will have to judge based on my own progress but wanted to see your thoughts on this

this is highly individual

the longer you remain sensitive to insulin, the better you will respond to higher carbs (and just about anything else, for that matter).

once you start to lose that sensitivity, things can quickly snowball into fatness.

this will take a lot of trial and error on your part in order to really pinpoint where you stand, and what your needs are.. so I would recommend documenting the changes you make quite thoroughly

and take weekly progress pictures of yourself to gauge progress/help you understand where the extra weight is going.
