Hey Chris
Im getting here late, heard through the grapevine about what happened. Man I know you probably feel like everything is changing and you cant stop it. The best thing you can do is to adapt and progress... BBing is a hobby and always should be, myself am slowly changing my priorities to more of my future profession and family. Those things matter more then any show and any trophy. I know many miserable pro BBers, but know many happy gym rats that are just hitting the gym, working and spending time with their family. As I stated this is a hobby, not a profession that will pay... your a good guy, with a lot of good values. You will always be in shape and Im sure when I decide to to close the chapter on competing it will be hard to walk away... but im closer now then I was years ago. If you think about it, what % of people do you know personally or even on the boards will ever see or yet flirt with a pro card? And even if they do... what after that? Its not worth losing the gift you were given known as life. But you know this... Im thankful you are alive to see your family and still be with them. Many people care about you and value you as a person 1st and foremost. Just for a 2nd rationalize what BBing is, and the time, money, the sacrifices you make in order to get (usually a crappy trophy). The one thing I think people can learn from you is A) how precious life is! B) How BBing may be fun, and a great self-competition but the time frame for most is so small to do C) The health stresses that BBing can cause, assist, or even relate to are real! Have fun, but take care of the things that are the most important. And thats what my goals are.... I look to compete this late summer and early fall but it is winding down for me, I just got married and im looking beyond bbing to possibly taking the MCAT's to see if I can get my ass into med school. Success to me is great health, happieness, and putting your family in a successful position. Chris you are a successful BBer and even better of a person. If BBing is no longer an option I know you will always be in shape and training and living a good lifestyle. I know many BBers who have moved onto other ventures in their life and been very successful... you Chris can do that also. Stay positive, and keep chugging. Life has given you a jolt to remind you what is important and what is not....
