Does anyone get up in the middle of the night to take sups and drink a shake? If so what results have u seen? Is it worth it?
 
Yes I did it for a while a few years ago.
Only difference I noticed was broken sleep.
 
Not worth it to deliberately interrupt sleep. If you have a pre made shake by your bed that you sip while half asleep it may be ok...but to set an alarm or something is silly. Your RECOVERY is more important and the nutrients have to be well thought-out prior to bed...(pro+fat)

When I was really training hard I wd make a whey prot. shake keep it in a cooler near the toilet.
Drink extra water before bed then wake up piss and drink.
Honestly not much of a difference.
 
hell no, my sleep is so crappy even when I wake to piss im not going to be dick n around with a protein shake,i get right back in bed
 
I sleep like shit anyhoo, so I sip on a shake all night.

Ive been doing it for years and love it. I set an alarm for 5 am, but i almost always wake up about 10 minutes before that to pee anyways. i never sleep a full 8 without waking up to pee so i just take advantage of that to eat again. I make the shake the night before and just chug it. I have no problems falling back asleep and it makes it so much easier for me to get all my meals in
 
Never done it, get all my nutrition during the day.

That is true, it's like an early breakfast, I'm always up like 2 hours before my alarm thanks to my fiancé. If I wake up I'll have a shake if not I won't. Just interested if people had any results from it.
 
When I'm not dieting and I wake up hungry then I'll go get something to eat...usually cereal or something like that...but I would never purposely set an alarm to wake up or anything like that.

That's true, but what if u wake up usually for any reason and u drink a shake. Does it affect the repair cycle? I fall back to sleep within a couple of minutes, would that shake help at all Tom or is it best to wait?

If you're that worried about getting your nighttime nutrition, why not just take casein right before bed? It'll digest slowly, you won't have to wake up and eat.

I do take casein at night, last shake of the day. I'm just curious if there is any real benefit or not. I can't seem to find an answer one way or another. I'm up anyway I might as well get something out of it, that's if there is a benefit. But I mean one more shake during the day, how much would it help?

My opinion is that if you have a shake then blood is involved in the digestive process and taken away from the rebuild/repair function using already digested nutrients from earlier that day.
