I get great pumps from doing incline dumbell presses for chest. Incline Barbell is good for overall strength and size, but I can never get the pump on my chest as good as dumbells. I feel most of the works are being done by the triceps and front delts.

I know one of my problem is the angle of the incline benches in the gym is set too high (non-adjustable).

Does anybody else feels the same?

I USE BOTH BUT GET A LOT OF WRIST IRRITATION WHEN USING HEAVY DUMBELLS....

ANYONE ELSE HAVE GIRLY WRISTS?! IT SUCKS. I GET A BETTER STRETCH WITH THE DUMBELLS THAT'S FOR SURE......

dumbells all the way! if i do a barbell, its on the smith machine(inclines)

I have used dumbbells exclusively for two years on chest day. I had alot of shoulder pain for years (doctor said inpingement) using bar; however, not quite sure why since I been using dumbells it has disappeared.

Dumb bells allow you to 'find the groove' better if you are suffering an injury or just plain are not made for barbell work. Plus you can get a greater range of motion. The problem arises when the gym you are at hasn't got d.b.s heavy enough to satisfy your demands.
The barbell will always be there, and It give better stability than d.b.s do.
I like both.

the best way to move the incline is to stick a 45 under the seat--most benches arent bolted down

I use dumbells every so often for something different just hate getting them up though. Its easier for me to do barbell then go to dumbells after tiring myself a little then I dont have to go above 110 otherwise it sucks getting them in position by myself. MM

Dumbells are great....

for detail work. But when going for size and strength, a bar is the way to go. You just can't hoist up those dumbells when using heavy wieghts. You lose 50% of your steam just getting them into place(unless you have two spotters) and that leaves you with with 50% engery for your working sets.

Both

Use to use them both in the workout. Start off with bar for 4-6 reps then go to db for 10-12. 1 set a piece to failure and beyooonnnnnnnndddddd!!
