Glucophage and avandia are the best drugs for increase insulin sensibility!

yes, and i have heard that gluco doesnt, but just reduces the glucose out of the intestines

best thing is to cycle carbs

a few days with very low carbs and your sensitivity will be absolutely up the roof, i used to advocate stuff like avandia as well, but after trying this simple dieting approach, it is now my favorite.
and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg like avandia does :)

mos def on cycling carbs, forgot to metion that one, thats a must anyway

Vadim, I'm really glad you chime in on threads. I never skip your posts. Good stuff.

thanks bro, appreciated

OP you could take the complex approach and just throw everything in the mix

Na-R-ALA, Taurine, NAC, Leucine, Arginine (any other supps ive missed? Gymnema Sylvestre also)

drugs - avandia + metformin (the combo is often prescribed to type 2 diabetics)
also AAS often increase insulin sensitivity, in particular going from individual feedback Superdrol sometimes gives users slight hypo
combine it with carb cycling and it may get rough :)

you'll certainly have some crazy vascularity popping up

I concentrate on Diet and cardio, and also take in r-ALA for supplementation.

Don't you think this could be due to the opposite effect as well? Rebound hypo is sometimes a sign of insulin resistance.

As far as the OTC supplements, going by memory, they may not increase insulin sensitivity per se, such as in the case of ALA. The racemic mix even increases insulin release IIRC.

Same with some of the pharmas.

A list of things, some stuff from another thread:

Fish Oils (and other efa's)
Sesamin
Fenugreek
Gymnema Sylvestre
Cinnamon
R-ALA
Anabolic Pump and P-slin (USP Labs) (you can get the bulk ingredients for cheaper though)
vanadyl sulfate
Chromium polynicotinate
Bitter Melon
Avoiding Trans fats
Avandia
Metformin
consuming more fiber
Alcar
Magnesium chelate (and the other types of magnesium that end in "ate"
lemon juice/apple cider vinegar
Not abusing stimulants
Glucosol (corosolic acid)
d-pinitol
Sage tea

I wouldnt think so, seeing as one of the things that makes Superdrol effective at packing on weight is the increased muscle glycogen synthesis and retention.

I think you can have high glycogen levels while your insulin sensitivity is getting worse. Kind of like when you take GH... sensitivity is worsened yet you may feel real full and gain weight. With GH the insulin resistance causes a compensatory increase in insulin of course.

There can be lots more to it too, I'm sure. Like this one shows:

Clin Sci (Lond). 1986 Dec;71(6):665-73.Links
Insulin action and dynamics modelled in patients taking the anabolic steroid methandienone (Dianabol).
Godsland IF, Shennan NM, Wynn V.

Plasma glucose and insulin concentrations were measured during oral (OGTT) and intravenous (IVGTT) glucose tolerance tests in nine patients off- and on-treatment with the anabolic steroid, methandienone (Dianabol). On-treatment, the tolerance tests showed a markedly increased insulin response accompanied by impairment of glucose tolerance, characteristics normally attributed to insulin resistance. However, fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and insulin (FPI) concentrations were significantly reduced, whereas the pattern normally associated with insulin resistance is for both to be raised. IVGTT glucose and insulin profiles were analysed using an algorithm derived from the minimal models of glucose and insulin dynamics originally proposed by R. Bergman and co-workers. Measures for the following parameters were thus obtained: Si, the sensitivity of glucose disposal to insulin; Sg, net insulin independent glucose disposal; phi 1, the integral concentration of insulin delivered during the first phase of insulin secretion relative to the initial increase in glucose concentration above a model-derived threshold; phi 2, the sensitivity of the rate of rise of insulin concentration in the second phase of insulin secretion to the concentration of glucose above a model-derived threshold; kappa, the fractional clearance rate of insulin; and tau 1/2, the insulin half-life. S1 was significantly reduced on treatment by a factor of 4. Sg, phi 1, phi 2 and tau 1/2 were all significantly increased, and kappa was significantly reduced. The increases in Sg and phi 1 both showed significant correlations with the increase in weight on-treatment. The reduction in FPG and FPI can be explained by the combined effects of the increase in Sg and Dianabol-induced resistance to glucagon.

If I'm reading right insulin sensitivity worsened but insulin independent glucose disposal increased, leading to low fasting glucose and insulin despite the resistance to insulin.

Wow, good thread.

Keep posting guys, I'm very interested in what is being said so far.

Sort of related, R-ALA seller ordered to stop false marketing claims:

Marketers of Dietary Supplements Ordered to Halt False Claims About Diabetes Prevention and Treatment

The marketers of dietary supplements that purportedly prevented and treated diabetes have settled Federal Trade Commission charges that they engaged in deceptive advertising practices. According to the FTC’s complaint, Glucorell, Inc. and Anafit, Inc., both based in Orlando, Florida, made false and unsubstantiated claims that two dietary supplements, Insulow and Glucorell R, are effective for preventing and treating diabetes.

Along with statements in their ads such as “Insulow® may be the only thing between you . . . and a needle,” the defendants also made unsubstantiated claims that Insulow prevents or reduces the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes; is an effective treatment for Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes; lowers high blood sugar levels; prevents or reverses insulin resistence; increases fat loss and decreases insulin-related obesity; and enables diabetics to reduce or eliminate the amount of drugs and insulin required to keep blood sugar levels healthy and reduce insulin resistance, according to the complaint. The Commission also alleged that the defendants falsely advertised that all of these claims except the last had been proven by clinical studies.

The complaint also alleges that the defendants made unsubstantiated claims about Glucorell R. The defendants’ advertisements allegedly claimed that Glucorell R is effective for treating Type 2 diabetes, prevents or reduces the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, and is effective in treating and preventing cancer. According to the complaint, the defendants also falsely advertised that the last two Glucorell R claims were proven by clinical studies.

According to papers filed with the court, Glucorell, Inc. has been primarily responsible for packaging, distributing, and selling Insulow, and has marketed both supplements; while Anafit, Inc., has been responsible for packaging, distributing, selling, and marketing only Glucorell R.

Under the terms of the order approved by the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on October 27, 2008, the defendants are prohibited from making the claims challenged in the complaint unless such claims are truthful, not misleading, and substantiated by competent and reliable scientific evidence. The defendants are also prohibited from making representations about the benefits, performance, or efficacy of any dietary supplement, food, or drug without competent and reliable scientific evidence.

The order contains a judgment of $493,545, which is the total amount the defendants received in sales for Glucorell R and Insulow between January 2005 and May 2008. However, the entire judgment is suspended due to their inability to pay. If it is determined that the financial information given to the FTC was untruthful, then the full amount of the judgment will automatically become due.

The complaint also names two of the companies’ principals, Laurence Berube and Jerel Scott Ferguson, as defendants. Both individuals have agreed to the terms of the stipulated order.
The order contains various record keeping provisions to assist the FTC in monitoring the defendants’ compliance.

NOTE: The Commission files a complaint when it has “reason to believe” that the law has been or is being violated, and it appears to the Commission that a proceeding is in the public interest. The complaint is not a finding or ruling that the defendant or respondent has actually violated the law. The stipulated final order is for settlement purposes only and does not constitute an admission by the defendants of a law violation. A stipulated final order requires approval by the court and has the force of law when signed by the judge.

The Federal Trade Commission works for consumers to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices and to provide information to help spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint in English or Spanish, visit the FTC's online Complaint Assistant or call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). The FTC enters complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to more than 1,500 civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. The FTC's Web site provides free information on a variety of consumer topics.
