Whats the best way other than Cycling Carbs?

Was looking at a GDA like True Nutritions MD Glucose Disposal Agent..

However would something like Metformin work also?

Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg, but looking to try something to see how effective it is.

fasting. 12-16 hours a day.
easy when cutting, also good if you can do it while bulking (its sometimes hard to get in enough food within 12 hours, but i still try to go 12 hours while bulking, around 14-16 while cutting).
i believe muscle cannibalization starts somewhere between the 12-16 hour mark according to proponents of fasting-implementing diets (kiefer, berkhan) so dont worry about that...

cardio

various supps, cinnamon and apple cider vinegar are staples for me

keto diet for just a few weeks (even though some people say keto induces insulin resistance)...
every time i go keto for 2 weeks or longer and start eating carbs again my body goes crazy (sweating, extremely increased heart rate, later on extreme fatigue due to the drop in insulin, i believe these are all signs of strong insulin sensitivity).
 
Agreed on the fasting as well as cinnamon. I have seen the results on blood glucose meter for myself.

Also some various supplements help with the Blood sugar levels as well.
