How many of you are working out with an injury right now?
I've lost almost 20 pounds in about 3 weeks using a sponsors DNP. Now my right glute is in constant pain because my sciatic nerve is being pinched. My toes and the bottom of my right foot are numb. I can barely bend over and medication is not working. I am going to make an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon and a physical therapist.

I can't do bent over rows. I was doing seated leg curls and got stuck under the machine cuz I could not curl my right leg. I don't seem to have any pain doing squats or leg presses or hack squats. I have to sleep straight legged to minimize the pain. Sitting down for long periods of time can be painful.

Guess I can look at the bright side. I do have a nice six pack.

I just got over some weird hip flexor tendonitis in my left side. I've concluded that it was from my feet being pointed too far outward during squats. Had to do leg press and hacks instead much to my dismay cause I'd rather BB squat over anything else for legs.

At the end of the day, just do whatever doesn't hurt and maintain progressive overload.

I have been through some pretty serious injures in my 48 years of lifting and I have always found a way to work around them.
A good chiropractor is a must!

Worst. Complete pec minor detachment. Never head it repaired.

Second. Doing dead’s for high reps. Injured lower back that lead to major sciatica pain for months.

Third. Using poor form on a heavy deadlift. Felt muscle tear in my back shoulder / shoulder blade area.

Fourth. Dealing with this now for several months as it comes and goes. Bad IT band pain. Perhaps IT band syndrom from sitting all day at work.

I think most of us have torn something from deadlifting. Upper back muscle for me, couldn't even do bench, put me completely out for weeks.

Jacked up my left wrist doing clean and jerk, had to tape it up for almost a year while it healed.

The list goes on and on but basically you work around an injury if you can but sometimes it will put you completely out of the gym.

Never ever ever ever do touch and go deadlifts. I swear that nearly half of all DL injuries wouldn’t be a thing if touch and go was eliminated.

Been going on 10+ years now with constant bursitis in both shoulders (rolled the tendon out doing dumbbell bench when I ran winny the first time and have never touched it again). Degenerative disc on my L4-L5.

I learned to check my ego at the door a long time ago. Now when someone says how much do you bench my reply is "you wouldn't believe me if I told you". Ironically weighted dips don't hurt my shoulder at all and I love them.

I subscribe to moderate weight and medium reps on incline bench only and moderate weight on deads.

So true. After my deadlift injury I stopped using straps. IMHO if it is too heavy to grip then it is too heavy to lift.

Did the same thing to my right, doing cleans, still taping it. Great exercise but gotta watch it.
Got a chronic elbow injury in my right also, limits my range of motion, some days its good, but have to be careful, or I will inflame it and limit it further. really need surgery on that elbow. Had a left tri tear repaired years ago also, I guess elbows are my weak spot. But Im old a/f too. :D

Yup. Deadlifting as well. Knees were bothering me, wasn't able to hinge knees properly. Went to heavy, form was crap, all the stress was on low back and after one rep developed sciatica that I have been battling for the past year. just now starting to get better.

I initially herniated my disc deadlifting probably 10 or so years ago I had sciatica on my left side but I had injections which fixed it. Now everything seems to have shifted to my right side. I think my hips are out of alignment. I get periodic spasms throughout the year was put me down for a few days at a time. This is just one pain that will not go away.

RIP big man.

-most likely a torn rotator cuff when i was 12 or 13 (diagnosed as shoulder capsule strain which was probably wrong)

-torn labrum which required surgery at 24 on other shoulder

-bulging discs at l3-l4, l4-l5, and l5-s1 (this one is now herniated)

-had small acl tears which healed but for the last ten years my knees make awful sounds. i try not to pay attention to it.

managed to live and train through them all but the back has been the most problematic. I like to squat and pull and wrestle and have not been able to do any in a few months. had first epidural two weeks ago.
