Hi Bros, I was channel surfing last night and caught this Afghan War Veteran giving a speech on CSPAN and was blown away.
Staff Sergeant Travis Mills was sure that he would become another statistic when, during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, he was caught in an IED blast four days before his twenty-fifth birthday. Against the odds, he lived, but at a severe cost—Travis became one of only five soldiers from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to survive a quadruple amputation.
Not only did he survive but he has gone on to inspire others with his amazing story. He has just come out with a book called : "as tough as they come" and I can't wait to read it. I ordered it last night as soon as he finished speaking.
It's amazing how we sometimes feel beat down by the cards we are dealt in life and then you encounter someone like Travis who shows that life is not what cards your are dealt but how you play them.
I strongly encourage others to check out his book and also his website. I guarantee you will find yourself uplifted and inspired by the story of this amazing patriot.
