I have a left over Humalog Bottle that expired about a year ago. Been kept in the fridge. With gear I don't care about expiration dates. With Slin worst case scenario, is just less potent, or should I trash it?

I dated a girl for a while who managed a CVS pharmacy. She said almost any drug is good long after the expiration date, they just put the dates for liability purposes.
Years ago I read a study where they looked at medications that were 10+ years past their expiration date and the potency of the drugs was only reduced by ~15%.
Depends on the vial. Rapid insulins will last a good amount of time after opening as long as stored correct. Basal insulins lose their bite much quicker.
It takes me ages to go through insulin vials as I don't use that much and I rotate different types. The one I am using now I first used well over 2 years ago. I have used insulin 1 year after first using and it was stored at room temperature the entire time and that was fine too. As others have posted you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Check out these anecdotes from diabetics. They didn't test the vials to examine how much the insulin degraded after their "experiments" but it's interesting nonetheless. I'm not advocating doing what they did but it's evidence that insulin is way more resilient than people might generally think.
