NP. I thought it was one of the more comprehensive videos on the topic and it’s great getting to hear multiple hosts views on the same topic. There’s lots of varying protocols on insulin use in all its forms and more than one way to skin a cat but I think they did an excellent job covering a lot of topics people have questions about regarding insulin use.Love these guys, thanks man. we just introduced some humalog so this is perfect timing![]()
I only got a few minutes into it before the kiddos interrupted me and I had to, yet again, get up from where I was sitting to help them find something that was directly in front of themNP. Been on the fence with slin for a while.
Used it many years ago in college when I was less experienced and had a few hypo scares, due to my own ignorance.
Have add the itch to incorporate it for some time though, just been reading and soaking up as much knowledge as I can first.
Will give this a watch tonight when I get home. Appreciate you sharing
I have yes. I need to read the whole thread, and lukis thread, and probably a few more threads related to it then I'll probably give it a go at a low dose.Have you seen @bbxtreme ’s all thing Insulin thread? Good read.
So if the average pancreas secretes 30-50iu of insulin dailyThe biggest thing I still stand behind on insulin is that I think far too many guys are using it backwards- abusing insulin to abuse food.
You use insulin when you eat more carbs than your body’s pancreas can produce naturally. It really is that simple.
Once you dial in that right balance and ratio so that you don’t get fat while using it and blow your lines out then you can really make some serious progress using Humalog and lantus in the right places at the right time.
Great share @Hyperemia- always good to have more coaches talking about insulin.
Close, if you check the final pages of my insulin thread I put the exact averages and numbers there with examples. So if the average pancreas secretes 30-50iu of insulin daily
And 1iu of insulin Is 10-15 of carbs in someone without insulin resistance, this would be anywhere from 300-750g of carbs daily that thr pancreas should be able to handle in the average individual, depending on their metabolism.
Yes I read... what if i only use insulin for carbs around the workout, even though the pancreas could handle the total carbs just fine? Unnecessary or even results can be extracted from it. You can still get benefits from it as long as you use the right calories and aim to keep fats out of the insulin windows IMO.Yes I read... what if i only use insulin for carbs around the workout, even though the pancreas could handle the total carbs just fine? we as bodybuilders basically do not want to relieve the pancreas but to obtain superphysiological insulin levels, so to answer your question - this is how you will obtain benefitsYes I read... what if i only use insulin for carbs around the workout, even though the pancreas could handle the total carbs just fine? Why is that?Listening to them talk about slin for fatloss was pretty painful
You wouldn’t make a phone call with a blood glucose level of 27 for permission to have a bit of sugar?Listening to them talk about slin for fatloss was pretty painful
