Insulin pre + post

I'm Canadian and I get Humalog without a script.
I've only used Humalog for a couple years now, so I'm far from an expert.
I don't like pre-workout insulin. I can't get a good pump with food in my stomach.
I work a muscle twice a week, I take 10-14iu Humalog post workout on my weak muscle groups. So when I use it I only use it 3-4 times a week.
Post workout and I just eat a shit ton of carbs.
If you need to eat tons of carbs just to cover your insulin, you’re doing something wrong. Remember, you don’t match the carbs to the insulin dose, you match the insulin dose to the carbs. You’re simply doing it wrong, so don’t say the method is bad. Pre- and post-workout insulin with meals is a great strategy.

well, you might need more carbs per iu ratio to cover the insulin if taken pre workout because your activity burns glucose.
but i would say pre workout is more effective than post and if i could only use pre or post, i would def go for pre.
maybe your meal is too heavy if you cant get a pump.
100g from ricecream, some dates or honey and some whey should not feel very heavy

What does food in your stomach have to do with pre-workout insulin?
If i have a meal before my workout, i purposefully put it at least a couple hours preWO....but preWO insulin means...preWO insulin, as it before you go to the gym, not pre meal. The "food" you are ingesting with preWO insulin should most liiikely be your intraWO nutrition.

I'm not saying its a bad method, and I'm not educated enough on the subject to have any kind of argument.

I've heard this before, "match your insulin dose to the carbs". I think that makes sense if your a sedentary diabetic with a medical condition. You're about to hit up a sushi joint with your friends so you want to match your insulin dose with what you are eating. However, in my uneducated mind, if I'm a bodybuilder with a goal I want to push the humalog dose up and eat accordingly. Call out my error in thinking, I respect your experience, I'm open to ideas.

When I take 10ius of humalog I need about 100-120g of carbs, depends on the day, otherwise I can feel my blood sugar dropping during the workout. As M@NU mentioned I tend to eat a heavier meal which is probably the reason. I'm not too much into sugary drinks. So I just prefer to take insulin post workout and eat a shit ton.

I’m not Luki so he will probably give a much better response

However for what it’s worth from my understanding

What people would do which sounds similar to what you may be doing is take a generic dosage of insulin which would often be 10iu and then as a guideline add in an extra 100 carbs to cover it so now you’ve just increased your food by 400 calories when it wasn’t required which usually ends up making you fat

If your carbs only allow you to take 3iu of insulin (which questions is insulin even needed) then you just take 3iu instead of choosing some random number and having to increase your food

That makes sense. I can eat a lot of food and not get fat. My last cycle (250mg test cyp eod + 100mg tren enth eod) I was training twice a day on an AM PM split, no cardio, eating four 1000 calorie meals and I was getting leaner every week. I start eating boxes of kids cereal around my workouts which really helped.
