People should also look at their diets as possible triggers for migraines too.
A friend of mine kept getting very bad migraines and was eventually discharged from the Navy because of them. He was at the point where they had tried using every medication they could until they were at the point of having to move to the next level of medications which are toxic. At that point, my friend decided to see what else he could change first.
After some experimentation, he discovered that red meat made the frequency worse. He now eats red meat only once a week and the frequency of his migraines have dropped from 2 to 3 times a week to 1 to 3 times a month. A huge difference that he is very thankful for.
I'm not saying that it is red meat for everyone, but that anyone with migraines should try cutting out one particular ingredient/food for a month and see what happens. Much cheaper than taking drugs and, possibly, more effective (as you could be affecting the cause instead of controlling the symptoms.)
