I use the Jarrow brand at 500mg 2x/day constantly year round- blast or not. Dante mentioned it in one of the threads a couple years ago. Way too inexpensive to leave out IMO.

It seems like this is one of those supplements that is crucial to be taken on an empty stomach for it to work properly.

“When IP6 is recommended, the dose is 2-8gm daily, which should be taken on an empty stomach to avoid interaction with dietary proteins. Consider taking supplemental inositol with IP6 because additional unbound inositol multiplies its therapeutic activity.

Specifically, the normal recommend dosage is 1-2gm per day, taken between meals twice a day to avoid its interaction with protein in the diet. For individuals with a high risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, kidney stones, etc., 2-4gm per day. Finally, to help existing cancer, 5-8gm per day.”

“. IP6 does also bind to copper, zinc, magnesium, and calcium, so it should always be taken on an empty stomach to avoid depleting dietary minerals.

If taken with food, IP6 will bind important, healthy minerals in the stomach, but will get too loaded up with these minerals to take up much iron. If taken properly, on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, IP6 enters the blood intact, "looking" for minerals to bind and will quickly snap-up unbound iron in blood & tissues.”

“IP6 has been shown to be quite safe to use. It is naturally present in mammalian cells, and it is obtainable from food. However, in food, IP6 is bound to protein. Before it can be absorbed it must be freed from this protein. An enzyme called phytase that is present in both food and the intestinal tract performs this function. The problem is that the power of the phytase enzyme is damaging to the IP6 and renders much of it inactive and therefore less effective. Pure IP6 from a supplement is not protein-bound and is easily absorbed in tact, and able to provide its complete medicinal properties.”

If you take it first thing in the morning how long do you need to wait before you consume something with protein?

What daily dosage would you recommend?

I take 400mg per day, take 200mg 45 minutes before workout and 200mg evening before bed. Before training take it with 80 to 100mg caffeine, 100mg CoQ1 and 100mg Fulvic acid.

It is recommended to been taken with food that contain high % calcium. For bone density.[/QUOTE

The powder I use per scoop has:
Ip6 3.2g
Inositol 880mg
Calcium 520mg
Magnesium 160mg
Phosphorus 760mg

Some company say mix with water or juice. So it feels like you would want to avoid taking it with any proteins right? Why would this article say this:

For people with low bone density is recommend to take with food reach in calcium, such as milk and chess. You can just take it 1/2 before meal.

The human body contains about 40 g of myo-inositol. It also plays the role of a growth factor and is identical in action to the formerly designated as "bios I" factor, necessary for optimal growth.

Good stuff, I have been using it for almost 30 years.
It can be used independently as well as in combination with other drugs in the cases of: insomnia; appetite disorders; during recovery period following serious diseases; in children with diathesis; vascular hypotension; myocardial ischemia. I have more info if you are interested.

What do you think of this? Seems like the best value for how much you get.
