hey, todya, all day, ive been having irregular heart beats. By irregular heartbeats i mean my heart suddenly feels life its having a spasm and then it stops, few minutes later again, seconds later again, minutes later again, like that all day. I googled this problem, some places it says its 'normal', being caused by things like over exercising, lack of electrolytes, sodium inbalance etc. but i am still worried cuz it happened all day. Las time something like this happened to me was back when i used to do coke. it feels like my heart suddenly and briefly contracts such as a heart attack or something. Im really scared please tell me whats wrong. Im on 500mg of sust a week nothing else.

palpitations. how long have you been taking the test? if it came soon after you started test try stopping it and see if it goes away

The vast majority of the time, it's totally nothing to worry about - it's like your brain sending a message to your heart to restart real quick with a fresh signal.. It happens to me too, and I was sketched out til I read up on it - it's called palpitations, and it happens to many, many people.. It can be a problem, but that's if you have a preexisting heart condition to begin with or something along those lines...And there are some triggers that can increase the frequency of them - caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, other drugs possibly, and other random things.. For example me personally, I didn't really notice these until I'd wake up really hungover in the AM after a night of drinking when I was out at college.. They'd happen over and over again, it felt like my chest fluttering.. You'd get that 1 weird thump, and then kno that it's gonna happen, your heart takes a brief pause, and then comes back with a harder thump.. But if you're healthy - then it's nothing to worry about.

but it sounds like this is a new development for him. by his post it sounds like he doesn't normally have palpitations. we'll have to wait for his response

wow man you just made my night, they seem to have stopped now but if they continue for another day or so i will go to the doc. Thanks for the info bro, greatly appreciated.

to be honest man i've had them before just never this many. This time it seemed like i was having them almost all day long. I should also point out i just came off a pretty severe cold which may have something to do with it. due to the cold my diet has been shitty, almost non-existent lol. I had green tea in addition to three misserable protein shakes as my full nutritional intake today. I am also a smoker (i know, i know, save it) in addition to all this. So i think all these factor could have contribute to it.

the test man i've taken for over 6 weeks so i don't think its that. Im pretty sure its something else. I mean 500mg is not that much, although i never like to go over it. My blood preassure is fine and my cholesterol was fine too last time i checked. I have had my heart checked before and its fine so i have no pre-existing heart conditions. I play by the rules when it comes to diet, i keep the sat-fats out and load on omegas and other EFA's. Try to eat veggies when i can, but have to admit that my last few days, having caught this cold and all, my diet has not been acceptable.

Did you pin yourself the day or just a few hours before the irregular heartbeats started?

When I used to take sust, the exact same thing never failed to happen to me a few hours after my injects... ALWAYS!

You're in pain for a whole day/night, but it usually goes away pretty quickly. Scary though, as you really feel you're gonna have a heart attack... :(

I've had that happen once in a while, but never a bunch of times.

Like the whole day or something....that would spook me.

I have had those

It could be nothing, it could be something that needs to be followed up. Many times what feels like "skipped" heartbeat is actually a part of the heart receiving the electrical impulse to contract a split second early making it feel out of synch. When I had my stress test, that what's they discovered. They can see the heart's electrical pattern during the test. My incidents were nothing to worry about they told me. In other possible causes, it could be of a more serious nature. You should have it checked out by a physician to be safe and put your mind at ease.

What you are getting is called premature ventricular contractions or PVC's. They are usually aggravated by caffeine or other stimulants. It's usually quite benign unless they occur in succession which can lead to fainting. You should have a holter test (24 hour ECG) to determine the nature and frequency of the PVC's. But for now discontinue all caffeine and other stimulants

I have had palpitations on and off for years. Definitely stay away from stimulants. If you want a supplement combo that works wonders and supplies ATP to the heart, try D-Ribose (10 grams), L-Carnitine (1 gram), Co Q10 (300 mg), fish oil (2 grams), and magnesium malate (800 mg). There is a book called The Sinatra Solution that covers this combo and all of its possible uses and is a great read.

sounds like atrial fibrillation or "A Fib" to me. I get it from time to time myself. feels like your heart stops for a few seconds and then beats erratically to catch up. I had it so bad one time my heart ate was almost 200 pbm. I had to have a cardioversion done to shock it back into normal rhythm.

i get this also from Lasix.. i take potassium and it stops could also be electrolytes. maybe some crystal light or g2?

the cold and recent poor diet may be the cause. like sadie said it could be electrolyte imbalance. that can definitely effect the heart... if it was the diet/electrolytes it should go away after you start eating and drinking well. i wouldn't recommend messing with potassium supplementation. you can really hurt yourself doing that. eat some high potassium foods: potato, banana, nuts, dried fruits etc.

So....

Nobody is gonna make any comment about the SMOKING  possibly having anything to do with it, how about sucking in all those chemicals so that your cells are now starving for oxygen and can't get enough cuz of the vasoconstricter effect of the nicotine in them , BESIDES all the chemicals. Yea I am sure that will help your heart!

Bro get to a doctor, preferably a cardiologist. You need to have a ekg/stress test done and some blood work. A 24 hour ekg might be a good idea also. This will determine if you need to have and angio gram to check for clogged arteries. It does not matter how healthy you look and feel from the outside, you could have clogged arteries feeding your heart and this could be a warning. Just get it checked out.

I had this and freaked out too. I got an echo,24hr ekg and some other shit and it all turned out ok. Apparently some palips are no concern and they tell by the tests. Not something to brush off but odds are you will probably be fine. They also increase dramatically from stress
