When I was getting a physical in junior high to play football, one of the athletic trainers noticed I had a winging shoulder blade and my pelvis is tilted to the right. Throughout my athletic career I never noticed anything until I started bodybuilding. My back and each one of my pectorals are growing differently and my left leg is smaller than my right. To battle this I do a lot more iso-lateral movements and concentrate on each side pushing and pulling in the exact same motion. I still perform bilateral movements but I have to be conscientious that I am not compensating to one side or squeezing one side more. For example, when I squat I have to make sure that my hips are lowering and exploding up evenly. When I bench I have to make sure that both shoulder blades are tight and that my winging blade isn't pushing my elbow out which puts extra pressure on your rotator cuff.
What (if any) body structure defects do you have and how do you train around them?
