ok not sure how to ask this one, but here goes. Sometimes when I am pressed for time at the gym I will do sets back to back and take very little if any rest between, I go until i can't go on because I can't really breathe fast enough, but I just keep doin as much as i can. I guess what I am wondering is : are my muscles starving for oxygen ? and if so is this hindering them in any way? or is it good for them ( or me, or my heart ) to keep doin set after set until I am literally about to drop cuz i can't breathe? Is this a way to increase my stamina by demanding more work with less oxygen available ? keep in mind this is only during the last sets of my workout and not the whole time. I guess because my weights have gone down some because I am older I am doing this to "up the intensity" and it's kind of fun and challenging, also when I do finally HAVE to stop to catch my breath I like to feel how hard my heart is pounding , it feels like it's gonna bust right outta my chest.. it's pretty intense but it makes me feel so alive (maybe cuz it happens during sex also) anyway i Like it but am wondering if it is good or bad for me, or my heart or my muscle growth........ ANY input would be great and please don't say I 'm crazy, cuz I already know that.
