I absolutely do not agree because paradoxically thanks to bodybuilding from a poor, insecure and self-conscious boy who was raised by a single mother and often lacked money even for food I became a confident man who is a rich man by the standards of his own country - of course I did not make money competing in competitions but bodybuilding gave me opportunities that I would not have had if I did not do it

I live the way I want, I do what I love, I do not have to worry about running out of money and I do not work a single day because my work is my passion so how can you call something that you love to do with all your heart work

I think you misunderstood him - he meant that if someone wants to become a millionaire thanks to bodybuilding it won't happen in 99.99% of cases, unless you are a 1 in a billion genetic freak like gus from the top 3 mr.o

Perhaps, but I’d rather live a modest life doing what I love than be a millionaire with no care for what I do

You are bringing this false dichotomy into the conversation. You can bodybuild and have a non-bodybuilding related career no problem.

Being a millionaire is no big thing. I passed that mark years ago and decided to retire in my mid 50's. And the numbers keeps going up. But the discipline and consistency, the read, learn and apply were lessons i learned from bodybuilding. I trained most days, prepped all my food days in advance and basically lived the bodybuilder life while working a blue collar job for decades the had nothing to do with bodybuilding. i used the lessons learned in other areas of life and reaped the benefits there as well. The short fat insecure kid with no self worth hasn't really shown his head for some time now.

TO me it started as therapy for growing up a wild child with to much pent up aggression!

over the years the thought of competitive bbing has crossed my mine but the cost of a show to win a plastic trophy isn't worth it to me..

I mean you’re saying you make 410k a year after taxes. This means you make 650k a year before taxes assuming you’re in the 37% bracket

Taking your after tax number—In 2.5 years that a million dollars. Obviously there’s living expenses so it’s not going to happen in 2.5 years. Let’s say you spend half of it on living expenses (205k a year on living expenses). Still would only take you 5 years assuming you don’t invest any of it or earn any interest on the money you’ve earned (unlikely, but let’s entertain the possibility)

so the odds are that you’re either lying to try
To gain validation, or you’re one of financially irresponsible people in existence—or maybe both
